    Please!
This is silly. If you go to the boxing day sales you can get some great bargins but you queue for a long time to get in.Normally you walk straight in but as there are bargins on offer you join the queue with everyone else. Are people suggesting that they were expecting the same install times once the price had been slashed?

" I will wait untill Sky Hd is very cheap before I buy"

" Oh its cheap now,I will buy it"

"***,Its cheap but I cant believe other people also wanted it and now I have to wait in a line"

Well if they weren't pushing it on TV every 5 minutes to watch Bond in HD, Cricket in HD etc etc. If their estimates are right I'll be lucky to get it for the Ashes never mind the west indies!

I understand your point but I think people have a right to be shocked at an initial email saying 4 months, most people would expect to wait upto 6 weeks but initially being asked to wait 16 weeks is daft. As others have stated sky advertise the service with the inference that you can watch the next premier in HD

I ordered HD+ on Friday (31 Jan). At that point it said 3-4 Weeks. On Monday, it changed to 1-2 weeks and yesterday (Wednesday) I got a text to say I could go ahead with my order and choose an installation date. First date they could offer was Tuesday 11 Feb. So, given the demand that the £49 offer must have generated, I think that's not too bad at all.

    Hi all,

Registered for HD last saturday (31/1), was told 2 months! got a text this morning whilst at work confirming it was ready and I just needed to go online to complete the order and get an instalation date, went on the website signed in and kept getting a page saying I was a sky customer and should log in!!! tried 5 or 6 times so called them instead and got a recorded message saying it was quicker and easier to do it online!!

Finally got through 2 min's later it was done and it will be fitted on monday! so 2 months turned into 10 days

    Happy day's

    ordered on the first.

    Told 4 months

    then 4-7 weeks

    now getting installed on thursday

I think its a case of give u a high estimated date
then work on getting it to you within 2 weeks.

Pay no attention to the 4 months they say - I ordered 31st Jan, 8 days later and I just completed the order - being installed Tuesday.

    Sky's marketing is good isn't it? :D

Tell your new punters that it's going to be at least four months until they can get their hands on a new HD box that they're desperate to get. Stand back while their blood begins to boil, but before that actually happens, send an email saying that it's going to be fitted inside of three weeks. I expect Sky can feel the warm glow all the way back in Hayes!

Slightly better than telling everyone that you can have it inside a fortnight and then fitting it six weeks later, wouldn't you say? ;)

I think that complaining doesn't make a jot of difference, as others have posted the time comes down pretty quickly anyway:)

    4th Feb - 2 to 4 weeks to complete

    5th Feb - 1 to 3 weeks to complete

6th Feb allowed to place order.

Being installed on the 21st Feb, so obviously the call centre muppet who claimed there was no chance of bringing it forward was fortunately mistaken .

Now who'll offer me odds that they 'forget' to take off the promised £5 for having sky talk from the newly increased £15 broadband max price :p

    Cheers

    Matt

Are all these long waits for upgrades?

I ordered Sunday by phone (New customer) and it was fitted today (Thursday). Four days if you don't include Sunday.

I querried this with sky and this was the email reply I received

"Thank you for contacting Sky Help Centre.
The change in the formatting of your billing reflects the price increases of our broadband packages which will take place in March. As a subscriber of Sky Talk, your fee for broadband will not be subject to this price increase. Your monthly fee for the Mid broadband package will appear on your bill as 10.00(GBP) but this will be offset by the monthly application of a credit of 5.00(GBP) under the category of 'Offer: on-net discount of 5.00(GBP) when any Sky Talk product is taken'. Your broadband provision will therefore continue to cost 5.00(GBP) per month. I trust that this clarifies matters for you and apologise for any confusion caused."

There bound to get it round their necks - so no odds offered:D

That is because you are a new customer. Enjoy the privileges now, you only get it the once with Sky :lesson:
You can then sit and moan like the rest of us when they bring out Sky HD++ next year and have to wait half a year to get it ;)
Upgrades for existing 9 year customers with everything phone, full package, sky+ for years, multiroom and max broadband get to see the back of the queue and back here its a fluid change between 6 to 10 weeks depending what time of day I look at the track order link on the website.

    I aint bitter LOL

    Where do you live, Venus?

They did mine in 6 days (back in October), and I have been a long-term customer.

I've been a Sky customer for around 20 years now and registered my interest for SkyHD 10 days ago. It was only 2 days ago that the approximate time went down to 4-7 weeks so could still be in for a long wait :(

Experiences seem to differ. I ordered my Sky HD install on 29th January and it was installed this morning. A friend of mine has had his installed today after ordering his a couple of days after me. I'm not convinced it is down to whether or not you are a new customer or not.

I am effectively a new customer not having had Sky since 2002. He already had Sky+ and upgraded to Sky HD.

Ok, hopefully someone can help answer this for me.

I'm soon to be getting some money through soon due to an insurance payout and its my intention to buy a new HD telly and get Sky HD installed instead of my current Sky + box. I want to get the Sky HD installed by the time of WWE's Wrestlemania on April 5th, but my problem is im not due to get my cheque for at least another 2 to 3 weeks from now, so i cant get the telly in til then.

My question is do i have to have a HD compliant telly in for the sky HD install or can i just get it installed for now with my CRT and just use a scart to that in the mean time. I'm thinking i need to order it from Sky now caus i dont want the install to be after Wrestlemania. Any ideas?

I am sure people will be disgusted with SKY like TalkTalk.
