I have had a trusty Denon AVR-1706 for the past 3 years and is still going strong, but with Hi-Def audio and HDMI Switching coming along i think its time to upgrade.

I have been looking at a few AMPS please see links below

    Onkyo TX-SR606
    whathifi.com - Reviews - Onkyo TX-SR606

    Denon AVR-1909
    Denon AVR-1909 review - whathifi.com

    Sony STR-DG820
    Sony STR-DG820 review - whathifi.com

    Ideally i want

    3-4 HDMI Inputs
    2-3 Component Imputs
    Video Upscaling to 1080p
Can handle all the various new Hi-Def Audio True-HD...etc.....

    Budget is around.......£300 - £400

Has anyone got any reccomendations of the 3 above or anymore i havent seen.....?

    Thanks

If you up the budget to £499, Richersounds have the Denon 2309 and Onkyo 806 for that money. If you are happy with the Denon then maybe stick with that, or try something new.... I believe the 806 is a big step up from the 606 but not sure how much better the 2309 is over the 1909...

I had the DG 820 for a few months and although very good for the price (£220ish now) I soon felt the need to upgrade and got a Pio VSX-LX51. Although the 51 is out of your price range I'de reccomend the Pioneer VSX-1018AH for £399. It only has two HDMI in but personally i would rather sacrifice an HDMI and have the superior audio.

I had an earlier Onkyo and it was nice although I would stay away from the Onkyo 806 as I believe it has a problem passing 1080p signals, 606 should be fine.

Cant really comment on Denon as not really listened to them much but I understand them to be more musical than Home Cinema.
