Good afternoon All,
I am after a new HD tv and i found this site whilst looking for product reviews so i thought this would be a good place to get some advice. If i have posted this in the wrong forum, my appologies.
I am not to bothered about HD broadcasts too much as i dont watch a lot of tv but i do want HD for my X box 360 and the HD-DVD. I have a maximum budget of £800 and i have seen 4 tv's that suit my budget and have all the features that i think i need but i dont know which one to go for or whether there is something else that i should be looking at. I would like a 37-42" screen and although my max budget is £800 i would prefer to pay less than that if possible. I belive that 720p is a high enough resolution for 360 games so i dont need 1080p but do i need a HDMI or VGA port to hook up the 360?
I was going to go for a Samsung WS32Z419D crt due to the low price but having seen all the problems/complaints in these forums, i have decided against that which leaves me with the following choices-
1) Samsung LE40R74BD lcd
2) LG 42LC2DB lcd
3) LG 42PC1D plasma ( i am aware of the burn in issues with plasma but how big a problem is it?)

Would any of you recommend any of the above or does anyone have any better suggestions? I know that a lot of people would suggest going for Sony, Panasonic or Toshiba but for the screen size i want, most of these are well above my price range.
I have looked at a lot of cheaper unknown (to me anyway!) makes that look ok in the shops but are any of them any good in the home? I will be putting the sound through a 5.1 system but i would like a decent standard of sound quality from the built in speakers as the missus does'nt really need 5.1 to watch Eastenders and Corrie!
Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions that I get.
Regards, Chris.
