Any one know what game/engine they use in this program, looks good.
Oh dear, answering my own question.
Anyway for anyone who's interested, the games called "Rome: Total War"
details can be found at totalwar.com
Rome: Total War is not out until Xmas or maybe early 2004. The current game is Medieval: Total War and you can pick it up for £19.99 at PC World.
I was in same position as you, looks good. Just got it from PC World. It was PC Gamers game of the month September 2002. I was really surprised, thought it would have been some specially commissioned BBC software.
Lets hope USA is getting it a LOT later than we are here in UK...
It's down for a Fall 2004 release Stateside
This game is awesome, there is no need to have a specially commisioned version as this game does indeed simulate warfare.
Sadly, it does look like Rome: Total War is not due out until late 2004. Got to say though that the build that they use in Time Commanders is fantastic. If this game still has one more year of development left it should be an absolute stonker.
I feel that Shogun: Total War far exceeds the medieval version. But the Rome version looks awesome. But what sort of PC are the BBC running it on eh? And over HOW many monitors?????
Looks like a dandy. 128mb card min i think for this work to look and run nice.
