Last night I ran the THX Optimizer for audio on the Pearl Harbor DVD and when it cycles through all the speakers with the schematic onscreen, when it gets to the subwoofer it is silent i.e. no test tone. I have it set to max volume, and it DOES work during films, just not in the test?

Anyone know why? I have the subwoofer connected with a single QED subwoofer cable in its line input socket to my DENON 2802 amp's subwoofer input.

Like I say, it works fine during films, but the test tone is silent, even though I know it is supposed to be quiet.

    Thanks!

I trust you meant to say 'Denon 2802 amp's subwoofer OUTPUT'?

If not, I think we just found your problem...

I've mucked about with these THX test tones a few times i.e. setting my DVD's Dolby Digital signal to PCM mode, then running the tone in Pro Logic. The low end sub channel doesn't come through.

Silly question, i know, but has your DVD's bit stream output been set from Dolby Digital to PCM by accident?

Sorry for the dumb question, but its all i can think of.
