I just got a Yamaha RX-V2400RDS, have set it up and it sounds fantastic until I put it in THX post processing mode. THX makes th high frequencies sound compressed kind of like listening to MP3 as opposed to CD. Is this how it's supposed to sound or is it the speaker package I'm using it with? (Wharfedale Evo30 surround package with bipolar surrounds and a REL Q150mk2.)

I think that is quite usual. A lot of people don't like THX post processing because of what it does to higher frequencies.
