    Hi everyone,
I need some advice with regards to setting up my tv picture.
    (Sony KD32DX200)
I have used the THX optimizer facility on T2 dvd to set the contrast and brightness, except that when I watch normal tv, the image is overly bright and then I have to turn the brightness down.
    Is this normal ?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

It's quite likely that ideal settings will vary between sources and/or method of connectivity and/or signal type. Your THX optimiser will (if done properly) have properly set you up for this type (PAL or NTSC) of DVD from this player with this connection. Settings will probably need to be different for

    - a different source
    - a different type of DVD (PAL or NTSC)
    - a different connection (eg SVideo vs. component etc).

The thx optimiser although a good basic start for calibration, is only really good for setting up the picture on the particular dvd it comes on. However for an across the board set up, some thing along the lines of Digital Video esentials and Avia are the best ones to use and a lot more indepth.

Hi, thanks for your help. I hadn't adjusted the contrast properly that is why the picture didn't look right.
Now that I have, the picture is spot on.
Factory presets on this set are not very good imho.
