Thunderbird problem

I've just bought a new laptop and installed Thunderbird.
I've setup as per my previous laptop with regards to handling junk mail.
i.e. When i mark emails as junk move them to the junk folder and enabled junk filter logging.
However when TB receives an email and i mark it as junk, it doesn't do anything
It stays in my inbox.

Previously TB would automatically identify junk and move it to the appropriate folder.
Am i missing something

I had this once and I uninstalled the version I had, downloaded the newest version and installed it. That seemed to fix it. *

Or you could try opening Thunderbird and then Tools > Options. Click on Privacy and then Junk and make sure that "When I mark and item as junk" is ticked and "move them to the account's "Junk" folder" is ticked too. Click OK

* Don't worry about your emails, add-ons and settings, they will still be safe but you can always backup your emails, settings and add-ons by making sure Thunderbird is not running and then opening Windows Explorer and browsing to:
For Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\

For Windows Vista:
C:\users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\

Just make a copy of the registry.dat, profiles.ini and Profiles folder.

Cheers
