I have always wondered why amps / receivers allow you to feed a video signal from dvd into the amp and then out to the tv. Is it purely for conveinience when a direct source to display is not as easily routed.
I just connected my tv and dvd up via my Pioneer 2011 because I thought I would be able to use the on screen display of the receiver through the component out, but I still have to use the monitor out via s-video, so I see no merit in using it in this way.
