Thrips & LCDs

For the unaware - Thrips are annoying little insects that love the bright lights of your new shiny LCD. They get in behind the screen and sunbathe until their death, leaving you with the constant reminder of their existence in the form of their corpse stuck to the screen.

I know this has been discussed quite a bit on here, but I'm yet to see a solution other than switching to OLED, which obviously isn't ideal for a lot of people's viewing habits.

Im just wondering if anyone has ever successfully managed to stop them ruining their LCDs without having to put their TV in to hiding for the summer?

I have spoke to many retailers and insurance companies and nobody will cover for this which is even more frustrating.

Any advice?
