While it's nice that they released this on UHD, I don't see the point in getting a UHD disc of this instead of the standard blu ray.

But my key question is whether the deer scene looks as fake/greenscreen in UHD/blu-ray as it did in the theatre? :rotfl:

It's a good movie, not quite In Bruge level, or even Seven Psychopaths, but worth checking out.

I can confirm the deer seen looked fake on 4k copy bought on iTunes and watched on 49KS9500 via Apple TV 4k. A mere blip as it was a very good film.

Have to pretty much agree with everyone above, it was a decent watch but the deer scene was strangely jarring and whilst UHD is welcome if people do not have that setup you will not be losing much with the standard bluray.

The deer scene looked fake in the cinema so I can't see how anyone would expect it to look less fake at home.

Not quite as bad as the deer scene in The Walking Dead but still pretty bad.

The poor showing on this disc is the fact it's taken so long to get it released in the UK.

bought the US version of the UHD as i loved the film at the cinema and is a great film. the uhd does a good job but is it worth the extra over a std blu ray release ... not so sure but i bought it mainly cause a very good movie

Really enjoyed this film. Something different, slow burning, interesting characters, nice setting, good pacing and of course Tyrion is in it. How can anyone not like a film with Tyrion in it

Thanks Cas. That review has made me want to check this film out even more now, particularly that mention about the great little extra.

Robbed of the best picture Oscar in my opinion. Everything is excellent in this film; the writing, the direction, the acting etc. Tragic, funny, shocking in equal parts and riveting from start to finish. Great review, thank you.

Slightly puzzled, I thought that the UK version of this disc wasn't released until Monday 21st May? See the release date in the screen capture below, which agrees with what I was told at my local Fopp store, they said the release date was 21st May. As it happens, I did get the USA version of the disc a fortnight ago, a friend was on a business trip to California and bought one for me, which I mentioned in the movies section, "18 films being shown in a flat in Edinburgh".

@Casimir Harlow Hence I was mildly curious about how AVForums got a disc on Friday, three days before the public release date of Monday 21st May?

It’s a PR disc. Thankfully we don’t have to wait for Amazon for all our titles otherwise every review would be on the date of release or later!

Ah, I see. Public Relations rule! Not only Amazon, normal high street shops are also saying Monday 21st May for release, and yes, without the PR disc all reviews would indeed be on the release day, or later!

Reviewers get products before release. My partner is a retired film critic. He would see all the films he reviewed, ( mainly Sunday morning private viewings, at the local cinema. ) before release date.

@Blupetros In that case, Zavvi must think that you are some sort of hot-shot, high-flying reviewer dude! :)

Thoroughly enjoyed the film, my wife was cracked up at the dentist scene. Great soundtrack. I thought the deer was, cute shall we say.

Good movie but way too much swearing especially with children around is something I despise.

Thats why it's rated R in america and 15 in the uk, maybe you should have watched this excellent film without children present.
