Thomson dti 6300 software

my daughter recently got one of these Thomson stb but did`nt really understand how this system works with overnight downloaded programmes etc clogging up the hard drive
is it possible to delete the top up tv software to use the box as a normal hdd recorder

You can't delete the software but you can cancel the downloads freeing up the HDD space.

I can't remember exactly how you do it as my TUTV Anytime box has been unplugged for months now since I got cable, but there is a setup screen where you can disable each TUTV channel from downloading, just disable all of them.

Be aware that when you disable a channel it will delete any previously downloaded content from that channel so if by some miracle there is something you want to watch be sure to watch it before disabling the channel.
