I'm after a 32" W/S, mainly for ordinary analogue, some digital cable (NTL) and DVD.

After much deliberation I am down to the Thomson 643 or the Philips 9509. I can get the Thomson for £726 inc. 3 years warranty, or the Philips pricematched to £816 by John Lewis, with 5 year warranty - £90 between them is neither here nor there.

Anyone got experience of both of these sets? They both score well in reviews. I slightly prefer the appearance of the Thomson and I believe the sound it a little better than the Philips - but still can't decided which to go for.

Incidentally, the Thomson uses their 'ITC222' chassis, which is sold as an HDTV in the US - anyone know if the UK-market 643 is HDTV capable?
