Hi guys..
has anyone out there got either a Thomson 32WS22U or a JVC AV28WFT1, firstly which ever one you have what do you think of it, both in terms of picture/sound quality and regards connections (are they adequate?).I can't find any info on either of these sets and the staff at Northern Electrical where I've seen both these sets are not the most technically minded..Also and finally does size matter? our lass would say yes, of course, Is the 32" Thomson better than the JVC 28",any advise gratefully accepted..cheers

Sorry Zone, can't advise you specifically on the 2 models referred to but in terms of size I'd say it does matter although no matter how big you go you'll get used to it.

I went from a 29" 4:3 to a 32" w/s and noticed a difference, I then replaced the 32 with a 36 and initially was overwhelmed although now, the only time I realise how big it is when I watch somebody's 28" 'portable'

    Good hunting!

    Cheers
OG

Zone, I have got the 32" model of the JVC TV and I love it. The picture is superb, especially when watching a DVD. The sound is only Nicam so if you want surround sound you are going to have to invest in an external amp + speakers, but the sound in OK. There are some geometry problems with the set in 4:3 and 14:9 mode but these can pretty much sorted out in the service menu. There is also plenty of connections but only one scart is RGB, but this is the case with most TV's at the moment

I would also recommend getting the 32" model rather that the 28", as size does matter when it comes to TV's . Also you may want to shop around online as you will probably get the TV much cheaper than your local shop.

    Hope this helps

I would be wary of the Thomson. I've seen some models (can't remember if it was the 28" or 32") with some pretty dodgey geometry, especially in the 14:9 and 4:3 mode. It was only after I'd pointed this out to the salesman that he came clean and admitted that the geometry was poor on Thomsons. Prior to that he had been praising it to the sky.

However, maybe I was unlucky. Does anyone else have any experiences?
