At the risk of being flamed for racism this illustrates problems that occur when you don't have controlled and qualified immigration.

The report talks of Somali gang crime.

Personally, I don't entirely blame the Somalis, they come from a different culture. And that is the problem with some immigration, people come from a culture where was is tolerated as normal behaviour is very different to how you should behave in the UK.

And how did these Somalis enter the UK. Probably the only way was as asylum seekers - claiming that they were in fear of their lives, poor unprotected and scared innocents - the reality is that once here they become gun toting drug gang members. I think if proper checks were done border control might have found that these individuals were part of the problem in Somalia, not running from it.

No problem with immigration is controlled proper (like Australia do). More than happy to welcome any nationaliality, race, religion that wants to come to the UK, behave nicely and contrivbute to the economy.

    Cheers,

    Nigel

P.S. I quite aware that you can't tar all immigrents with the same brush and I don't. It's just that more often than not when we read of extreme crime in the UK it involves immigrents from countries where the culture is very different where the crimes they have commited are more the norm.

Don't get involved in gangs and the chances of you getting killed by a gang land execution slim down dramatically!

Maybe the residents of Bournemouth could seek asylum elsewhere in the UK as they are in fear of their lives.

While getting rid of dealers is a good thing, violent crimes like shootings and murder are never justified. If these people are able to get away with this, it's only going to encourage more violence and similar incidents - where does it stop?

And how many of their 'customers' have been effectively 'murdered' and caused untold misery to both themselves and other ordinary decent people by use of 'products' supplied by these people.

It is a win win situation as he will never be able to deal in his evil trade again or be involved in any sort of violent crime and if/when his killers are caught they will be locked up and also be out of the game.

So who knows how many people will benefit from this

Crime is just a modern plague. It's everywhere. You can't run, you can't hide.

They should have crime islands, where you go if you want to be involved in crime. Leave innocent people alone.

No policing on these islands. Do with each other as you wish. We can't stop crime so why waste time trying. Better to relocate them where only their own kind will suffer.

The problem is the dealers who die are just pushers, as soon as one dies another one will be there to replace them. While the chap who was killed will never be able to deal again, that will not stop the drug trade at all, there will still be dealers, there will still be violent drug related crimes and it will keep going.

I hate drugs, I hate those who deal them as well... but what is it going to stop when a single dealer is killed in gang violence? All that will happen is there will be more tension between gangs which could lead to innocent people getting caught up in the fallout.
After the emotions of a lot of people in the Batman Shooting thread recently, I'd be surprised if many people on here would be happy about gun crime in any fashion, even if it was a dealer killed - it's a bad sign for things to come.

There are much better ways to deal with drug and crime issues, gang wars are not the solution.

Its such a shame, I grew up near Boscombe (near Bournemouth where this guy was killed) and it was once a nice area.
We have just taken career breaks and moved to Wanaka in New Zealand for 6 months as we are fed up with various aspects of the UK. We receive the local paper here and the biggest drama that happened last week was a fire extinguisher was stolen by a youth! We will have to seriously think whether we want to go back :hiya:

Do you honestly think that now this dealer is dead the drugs in his "patch" will stop, addicts will be out in the streets rejoicing at how they dont have to do drugs anymore now that he's gone and the crime in that area will simply stop all because this 1 man was murdered and his killers jailed.....brilliant......

Ahh but that is where it starts, next week in the news you will here of a fire breaking out in that building. You will see Youths starting to gather on the burnt out remains after a week or so idly spraying each other from the extinguisher, mocking the previous occupants who start to see it as a personal attack. The insurance money they were going to use to rebuild there dwelling is now being utilised to fuel a drinking habit, this has kicked in due to depression.

Meanwhile the kids have emptied the extinguisher and, in a futile attempt to refill it, have broken elements of it. So they start throwing it about the burnt out husk of a site in a game of catch or "dodge extinguisher" The bigger kids see this and move into the area claiming the extinguisher for their own and utilising it as a weapon to intimidate the younger kids. There then becomes a culture of the smaller kids going to this site to hang around near the big Kids and a social hierarchy begins to form. One of the older kids knows the owner of the burnt building well and sees their life crumbling to the point where the drink habit has turned to harder chemical substances. Thinking that it is an adult thing to take these substances the kid gets hold of some.

He shares it amongst his mates, who think for a laugh lets see how the younger kids like them. One enterprising young lad/lady then thinks "we can make some money from this" and starts selling it to the younger kids. Another one thinks if we dilute the product we can charge the same price and sell more. But the original entrepreneur doesnt like this idea so they fall out and a fight ensues. Death, destruction, drug and gang wars follow.

    You mark my words
