    Hi,

Am hopefully getting a new, working pair of AEGO M 2.1 speakers (http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=507414) and thought that it would be a good time to upgrade my integrated soundcard to make the most of them.

I'd rather not bother with all of the undoing of wires and messing about inside my (relatively new) PC so I'm much more tempted by the external route.

I'm looking at two Creative cards - the SB Surround 5.1 (http://uk.europe.creative.com/shop/product.asp?category=25&subcategory=1&product=1378&) or the more expensive XMod (http://uk.europe.creative.com/shop/product.asp?category=25&subcategory=1&product=1379&)

I'm more tempted by the XMod (it's not that much more expensive and looks a lot better) but anyone got any good or bad experiences with external soundcards?

It will mainly be used for music (rock/punk) and the odd bit of DVD/TV watching if that makes any difference.

    Cheers all!

Cheers mate - will check it out...

Pity about missing that cashback offer - might mail them and ask if they're thinking of running another one :)

Thanks for all of the help guys, ordered today (plus my tenner off) - hopefully be here by the end of the week.

Thanks to AV Forums as well, 2 queries (speakers and this) and 2 bits of help which have saved me money and suggested me decent products.
