When you have watched a film a hundred times do you suddenly notice things when you watch it again?

I watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom tonight and had never noticed that the club at the start is called "Club Obi Wan"

I missed R2 D2 in Close Encounters until I seen the doc.

Now I see it every time and I wish I couldn't

There is a website that lists the stuff in films thats not quite noticable and stuff they have just got wrong but for the life of me I cant figure out what.

Like in "Evolution" and that woman is putting loads of shirts on and the dragon is banging on the door in one scene it shows her wearing one color shirt then it shows her face shouting at the door then when you see her again she has a different shirt color on that wasnt there before lol.

I really wish I could remember that site.

    Edit
    Found it lol http://www.moviemistakes.com/

I think mistakes are one thing, but i thing the title refers to things you have missed that were geniunely put in the film, like nods/homage to other films, that you not noticed countless times you've seen the film.

How about the beginning of Gremlins which starts with an advertising board with a movie similar to Indaiana Jones.

Er, that's not exactly something you'd miss - it completely fills the screen.

I cant remember right now, but yes there are things that you suddenly pick up when watching movies again.

Quite a few movies I end up watching alone first and then a month or two later again with my girlfriend. Suddenly I notice something and I have to tell her about it - usually annoying her and she doesnt get the relevance anyway.

In Shaun of The Dead they pass another group of actors which are actually supposed to be better actors. I only noticed a couple of them, but I completely missed that fat guy from Little Britain.

I watched John Carpenter's The Thing for the millionth time recently, but for the first time on HD DVD, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I noticed the doc was wearing a nose ring.

It was watching an old fave like The Thing on HD DVD which really sold the format to me. It's pretty darn exciting when you think you know a film like the back of your hand and then discover something new about it.

Watched Pirates of the Caribbean again and finally realised why Jack Sparrow turned dead in the moonlight in that scene in the cave. Completely missed the reason before, which tells how much attention I was paying when I watched it before :rotfl:

Watched "Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade" last night and noticed in one scene that the picture goes very subtly in and out of focus as the characters are travelling in a car - not a mistake per se, but it's the first time that I've ever noticed it.

How about the bit at the end of "Catch Me If You Can", when Tom Hank's FBI man is standing in front of a blackboard, which has 'Steven & Tom's 4th project' written upon it, in the bottom of the frame?

The "cigarette burns" in the top right corner, when the reel change is due at the pictures. I never even noticed it before, then after watching Fight Club, I see it every time :(

In Ong-Bak, in the chase down the street.

They run pass a warehouse with steel shuters. There is something written on one of the shutters, and I'm almost sure that it says Spielberg Call Me, I think.

I notice this the first time I watched the movie and went back and paused it.

I'm almost 100% sure that is what it said.

Someone else will have to check it out, I don't have the movie.

Just noticed something watching Final Destination 2 that I have never noticed before. After the big crash, the first guy who gets it, is cooking in his flat, on his fridge one of the magnetic letters falls off leaving the letters e y e left on the fridge. This is exactly how he dies when the ladder falls through his eye.

FD 1 and 2 are both loaded with stuff like that. Always something to pick out on repeated viewings.

The first time I watched 'Sky Captain and the world of tomorrow', I was pretty much engrossed in the film, but with repeated showings, I've come across all sorts of stuff

1 - the professors lab address is 1138
2 - during the first robot attack, the laser sounds are exactly the same as george pals war machines in 'war of the worlds',
3 - as they approach tibet, sky captain does a flyby similar to the sequence in the Empire Strikes Back when a snowspeeder does a flyby past han solo on hoth and he waves back
4 - after the first appearance of lawrence oliviers character, on approaching his lab, jude law asks - is it safe?

theres amost certainly a million other hidden trinkets I've not yet come across......

Blair Witch 2 with those hidden messages all through the film on DVD. I missed most of them.

    A few bits and bobs from Gremlins;

The theatre is showing a double bill 'A Boy's Life' the working title for ET and 'Watch the Skies' the working title for Close Encounters.

At the movie's finale Stripe hides from Billy in a pile of stuffed animals. A plush ET doll is shown prominently in the shot. This is a gag reference to ET, in which ET also evades discovery by hiding among plush toys.

Speilberg whizzes past in the background at the invention convention on what looks like a Sinclair C5.

While billy's father is talking on the phone from the inventor's convention, the machine from the film The Time Machine can be seen in the background winding up to full power. The scene cuts to the house, and when we cut back again, the machine has gone, leaving only a wisp of colored smoke.

As Mrs. Deagle zooms up the staircase in her electric chair, we see a portrait of Mr Potter from It's a Wonderful Life.

Noticed on the second viewing of King Kong - when Jack Driscoll (think that was the right one) is down in the ships hold among the animal cages, as he walks through, one of the cages has Sumatran Rat Monkey on it - a homage to Peter Jacksons own film Brain Dead.

    Me too!

I noticed when watching 'The Great Muppet Caper' in the opening scene, none of the cars have glass in the windows.
And in 'Changing Lanes' in all Samuel L Jacksons closeups, he has no lenses in his glasses.
I have also started noticing when car rear view mirrors are removed.

    Help me please.

In the same scene, the man seen frantically looking for the time machine when it has disappeared is George Pal producer of The Time Machine and War of the Worlds, amongst others.

Just Watched 'Kung Fu Hustle' saw lots of things that I missed in two previous viewings. I missed the cat shadow breaking in half. There is so much going on in some of the scenes that you can find all sorts of things.

In Disneys Hunchback of Notre Dame Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) can be seen in one scene.

In Aladdin the Sultan is playing with toy figures which include Sebastian and the Beast.

In Finding Nemo in the dentists waiting room there is an Incredibles comic book.

As you can tell I have children and spend too much time watching cartoons:D

There are plenty more Disney self referential bits in their other films.

Stan Lee also appeases in shoots in most of films based on Marvel characters a bit like Hitchcock did in his.
