Not sure if something like this already exists, apologies if it does.

But as someone who was sitting on the fence as far as Hi Def movies went... then the EP35 dropped to £189.99 so I jumped in with both feet :)

I weighed up my options over the current situation and realised there at least 80 films on HD-DVD now, I would buy and certainly watch again over time. Plus with the fact of knowing/hoping at some point there will be either an official/unofficial firmware release making the EP35 multiregion.

So I thought I would list some films not already out, either back catalogue or films just released or to be released. To sort of see where the big sales will be on either format.

So please feel free to add your titles for both formats.

    HD-DVD

    Indiana Jones Quadrilogy
    The Godfather Trilogy
    Jaws
    The Incredible Hulk (2008)
    Iron Man
    Cloverfield
    The Spiderwick Chronicles
    The Ruins
    Wanted
    Hellboy II
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
    Death Race
    Star Trek (2008)
    The Wolfman (2009)
    Transformers 2 (2009)
    Jurassic Park

    Blu-ray

    Jumper
    Vantage Point
    10,000 B.C.
    Speed Racer
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
    Wall-E
    Hancock
    The Dark Knight
    The X-Files 2
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
The Day The Earth Stood Still
    Predator
    Alien Quadrilogy
    Star Wars
    Lord of the Rings
    X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
    Heat
    Independence Day

Good list. But if we are ever to see most of those films in High Definition, there will have to be only one format for them to come out on.

I want to see any of my favourites that I never got to see in the cinema - either because I missed them, I was too young, or I wasn't alive. Films like The Searchers and 2001 are revelations in High Definition.

This is taking into account.... lets just pretend... it all stays as it is for a while.

The ones in bold will shift some disks.

However I think Blu-ray has the advantage with LOTR/Alien/Star Wars

Just looking at releases and adding to appropriate section...as to why...no idea. I am saying if it comes out on HD-DVD with all the fuss it generated... it would probably shift a quite a few disks, so therefore would help the HD-DVD band wagon.

Won't be in my collection as I suffer from motion sickness

Think of it as more of a.... if they came out... not when :) This is more of a 'what films on Hi Def' would shift quite a few.... if and when they come out and if things are as they are now.

When you look at what I have put there now... BR certainly has the upper hand. As I think LOTR and Star Wars would sell by the hundreds of thousands.

Lol Cloverfield will be SD in HD because it uses SD hand held cameras. And from that Blu Ray list I choose......

The Day The Earth Stood Still.

Shame, but the HD DVD list is better.. so I wait for the war to end.

    I am Legend.(HDDVD)

In spite of mixed reviews,i really enjoyed this.I've read the book and seen the other two films that were based on the novel.

Looking forward to it in hi-def and the alternate ending.

I think Gladiator would sell BIG .. I cant believe it hasnt been announced yet

    This will make you chuckle...

I have wanted to watch Gladiator in HD for ages, I recorded it off of ch 4HD a month or so ago, started watching it and was not impressed with the PQ at all :thumbsdow .. watched the whole film thinking if this is what the disk version will be like, im steering clear.

Anyway, the film had finished, I deleted it from the sky planner, I went to switch it back over to scart .. and realised it had been on the scart input all the time :suicide: :)

Would have been better off upscaling my DVD version :D

Watching the 1080p trailer for Cloverfield on the Playstation Network it looks pretty damned detailed to me (over SD anyway). I wouldn't have thought it would make any difference either- but it did for me.
