    Hi guys!
    Finally booked a demo of the following: Panny 42 5series, Pioneer 433MXE and a DLP projecter.
    Any advice on what to look for? Check dark background scenes etc?
    Also, examples of discs to take along.

    Many thanks,
    John

    I find a good test DVD is Gladiator - the first battle scenes are very dark, lots of blacks & blues, then the scenes after the battle in the tents - again quite dark but more colour - reds of cloaks and orange from fire. Then later the desert scenes are very bright and clear - generally a good mix of different things on one dvd enable you to ensure the setup is good for a range of colours and brightnesses.

    Matrix is another good one for the dark stuff - lots of blacks and greens here.

    If you own any of these;

    Seven
    Pitch Black
    Dark City

    They all have excellent picture quality and are great for testing black levels . . . Pitch Black is my personal favourite because it also has great brightly lit scenes on the planet surface, a good contrast.
