    Hello,

I'm considering a purchase of a Theta Casablanca & Dreadnaught II combination. I'm curious what the pricing is of these units around the world. Mostly to see how the various importers are reacting on the exchange rate of the dollar over the last years. The dollar has dropped 35% in the last 3 years (compared to EURO) but the Theta prices didn't change in the Netherlands. Please specify your country and listprice preferable in USD or EURO for the following items:

    Netherlands:
Casablanca III Base Unit: € 9.500,--
DAC Standard, 6 Channel single ended: € 1.350,--
DAC Standard, 3 Channel balanced single ended: € 1.650,--
    DAC Superior2, 3 Channel balanced single ended: € 3.300,--
    DAC Xtreme D2, 4 Channel balanced: € 1.350,--
    6-Shooter: € 2.475,--

Dreadnaught II base for 5 modules: € 3.400,--
    1 Channel Module (225W): € 1.300,--
    2 Channel Module (100): € 1.500,--

    Thanks :)

    Tom

    Corival,welcome to the forums.....

If you're looking to buy a Theta, have you considered trying to purchase from the US,via a dealer there.

As for UK prices, you should email Absolute Sounds for UK prices,as they are the UK importers and main dealers.

    www.absolutesounds.com

In general,UK prices on US goods are direct pound equivalents,i.e. if an item costs $6000,then over here it may be expected to weigh in at £6000,after customs, dealer margins etc.

Your best option is likely to be in finding a friendly US dealer willing to export.

I'd also suggest that you may try having a look through a few other European dealer websites

Was going to say Theta, but they've changed the site layout and dealer page.

In general though,we do tend to get very heavily penalised in terms of prices on US gear in this country, unless via direct sellers such as SVS(for subs) and Perpetual Technologies(DACs).....very unlikely with premium brands such as Theta.

I couldn't find a single distributor for Theta products in Europe with pricelists on their website (exept for the Netherlands). I will e-mail Absolute Sounds, but I'm still interested in pricing of these products all around the world. So please add as much countries as possible. Please state if the pricing is excluding or including VAT.

Does anybody know what the official retail price in USD of these units is in the US?

I investigated this a little while ago. The dollar/pound 1:1 exchange rate is such a rip, grrrr. Anyway - here are the prices I found,

    US Prices

    CB3 - $7000
    Xtreme DAC 4 Channel - $3990
    Superior DAC 3 Channel - $2150
    Standard DAC 6 Channel - $1000
    Standard DAC 3 Channel - $1200

    DN2 - $2250
    250W 1 channel - $850
    100W 2 channel - $1000

Im pretty sure they are the RRP but heard its fairly easy to get decent discounts off that. Never got to the stage of finding a US dealer though.

Thanks Fletcher for the US pricing.

Aren't there any members from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain etc. Who can ask the Local Theta Digital importer for the Theta pricelist?

Please post as much pricing from different countries as possible.

Herunder the pricelist from absolutesounds.com (UK). And I thought the pricing in the Netherlands was terrible ;-)

    CB3 - £ 7000 (> $ 13.000 & €9.990)
    Xtreme DAC 4 Channel - ($ 7940)
    Superior DAC 3 Channel - £ 2290 ($ 4280)
    Standard DAC 6 Channel - £ 1000 ($ 1860)
    Standard DAC 3 Channel - £ 1198 ($ 2240)

    DN2 - £ 2590 ($ 4840)
    250W 1 channel - £ 990 ($ 1850)
    100W 2 channel - £ 1150 ($ 2150)

You wont be able to import from the USA very easily (At least not Dreadnoughts). Theta use fixed voltage transformers and are very choosy about supplying any 240V equipment to US dealers.

Do take in account that if you compare US prices with EU prices, you will have to add sales tax and import tax :)

But still then the price difference between US and NL is
