who has had some experience with the Kef 20B subwoofer. I'm looking at one for around £200, its for a small room for home cinema mainly. They've had good reviews in What HiFi but that was a few years ago, Has anyone got any info on them?

    Hi Taz

Just look at the threads and see which name and price pops up the most !
Nobody seems to mention anything under £500 when it comes to subs, but then recommends £300 speaker packages - odd or am I missing the pointon - Sorry

    Cheers

It's a general rule that you don't begin to get top quality subs until you reach the £400 - £500 mark. This is why many people will often buy used subs as opposed to brand new, to make their sub-£500 (no pun intended) budget stretch to a sub that would have cost over this when new, simply because the difference is so great.

Nothing wrong with subs that cost less, many are very good indeed, but they don't touch the more expensive, decent subs.

And people seem to very much like REL. No one's going to ignore Brox' request for info, if they have had any experience with the Kef.

Taking the mick out of my name isn't an original thing to do... believe me. I had one friend through school who insisted on calling me pointer dog.
