I have had Sky HD since January. No major problems except the odd lockup.

On Monday this week an error occured whereby the box reported
"There is a error with your viewing card" on the all the subscription channels and the non FTA channels ie 4 & 5 etc. This occurs on playback of recorded subscription material as well.
Rang Sky and after a couple of rounds of them activating cards , sending signals waiting for up to 4 hours etc still no joy.
They sent out another viewing card after another two rounds of activating cards & sending signals wait up to 4 hours again it is still not working.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

    Thanking you in advance.

It sounds like the box is no longer reading the subscription details from whichever card is being inserted.

I presume that will mean a new box and I will therefore lose all my recordings. Great.
    Don't you just love $ky.

Yeah, usually "There is a problem with your viewing card" means "Your card reader is playing up", if a replacement card did not solve.
