Themescene HD81 will not power on

Looks like my Themescene has died! :(

When I try to switch on my HD81, the blue light comes on the control box, but the projector will not fire up and the power light on the projector remains red. After about a minute the light on the control goes back to red again. Anyone seen or heard of this?

My friend has had Epson TW-10h and has the same symptoms with it. Probably the bulb has gone.

:eek: better not have, it only has about 200 hrs on it! The quoted life is about 2000 hrs.

But, I have just found out that the PJ has a 3 year warranty, result! :smashin: Except for the bulb. :thumbsdow How much do we want to bet that no matter what the problem, it turns out to be the bulb!! :nono:

I had it changed to a new unit.
It worked for 6 months and now the new unit has the same error.
Is there anyone who knows about a trick to kick start it again?

Let me also tell, that this problem buildt up over some time.

First it took 2-3 attempts to power on.
Then 5-10 attempts before powring up.
And after a month it does not power up at all..

Any who can help?

:eek: That is EXACTLY what has happened to mine!!!

Do you have your RMA number or some other reference that I can quote to Themescene so that they can link the two issues and see if there is an underlying problem?

You say that yours went within about 6 months, how much do you use the unit, how many hours have you put on the lamp? My has finally failed after about 18 months, but we do not get to use it as much as I would like :( so mine only has about 200 or so hours.

Finally got the PJ back today, it had its I/O board replaced. :clap:

Shame that it is far too hot to watch anything up in the cinema! :(

Oh well, just watching Andy Murry in HD. :smashin:
