Any chance of an in depth review Neil?

Do you have the capability to take contrast readings or greyscale graphs at all?

This pj certainly looks like a bargain, and could be as popular as the HT1000 was - if it delivers. :)

    Hi ntslik :)

Would it be possible for to post a picture of the Universal Touch Screen Remote? I've googled all over and haven't found one yet! :zonked:

I am also considering this as my new PJ. I look forward to reading your overall opinions!

    Looking online at the manuals the 'universal touchscreen remote' mentioned in specs seems to have turned into a plain old (but illuminated) remote;

I wonder if they have changed it to a cheaper one becasue of the initial £500 price drop.

Oh yes. A new style touch screen multi function jobbie :D

Just amazes me how all their marketing blurb refers to a touch screen remote yet no one here, in Europe or in the US has ever seen one. Makes you wonder what they're playing at.

Looks like Inzaman may be right on the button then. Thinking about it, it seems a good idea to offer an expensive part as an option thereby reducing the price. After all, many HT enthusiasts would likley have their preferred multi remote already.

I take back my previous comment as it may have been a shrewd move by Optoma

Definately - who wants to pay for something they already have? This way, the price is more appealing and those who want the remote have the option to buy it as and when.

I live in Norwich so before making the journey I have a few questions
    1. On paper the contrast ratio of 3500.1 seems superb but how good is it in the real world compared with the Sim Domino?
2.What price are you selling the H77 for and is a ceiling bracket available?
    3. I would like to have a fixed screen-what is the ideal distance for placing the projector to give a 7ft wide screen image? Any reccommendations on screens?
    4. Ideally I would like to have the DVD player close to the projector and keep the rest of the av system on the other side of the room. This would mean a digital cable around 20 feet to the av amp(Denon) Would I loose any signal quality over this distance?
5.My present DVD player is a Philips 963SA this has progressive scan and component outputs utilising the Farouda interpolating processing chip and a 108mhz/13 bit dac video processor. Will this be a weak link? Would the purchase of say a Pioneer DVD player with HDMI give a worthwile improvement?
6.I have read good reports of the RGB/component convertors for sky digital.Any opinions?
7.Is the projector suitable for DIY or is professional installation essential?
    Thank you for your patience
    Charles

    Hi

I am looking for a replacement for my Panasonic 100 and will be in touch with regards to demo of the Themescene range.

What sort of price is the H77?

Good to see (according to PDF on web site) that it is a native widescreen (16x9) display as well.

Just need to know its price now!

    Thanks

    Tone

Christ! Thats a bit higher than I may want to go, will have to see it I guess and figure out if it's worth that amount from my pocket POV!

Other then the H77 is there anything at sub £3k that is as good?

    Cheers

The H77 is quickly being regarded as the best sub £5k pj available. I sincerely doubt you will find anything sub £3k that is a s good. In fact, having seen the Mitsubishi HC2000 (sort of H77 clone) I sincerely doubt you will find anything that comes even close for <£3k.

My advise would probably be to look for a second hand HT1000/1100 which although not native widescreen is an incredible performer with DVD material and probably the closest to the H77 without paying a lot more.

    HTH.
