I quite like the look of that & it's out on my birthday :)

Excellent design - I posted on a thread on BR.com that I'd love to see this design on a blu-ray and was a shame they went with such a photographic design. For some reason I didn't think they'd go for a steelbook but it makes perfect sense right? I'm guessing the title and flag will be embossed...I'll definitely be getting this, probably instead of the Aguirre and Nosferatu steelbooks (as I'm getting the Herzog boxset). Brilliant!

lol it's saying on Base website RRP: £999.99. You Save: £978.00. Hahahaha :smoke:

Excellent news, may even be a day one buy for me. The art works surprisingly well, really like the back. Potential to turn out a real gem. :)

Sweeeet, will put off going to the cinema for this now. Great design.

If the finish is right on this, then it's an essential purchase, that front & back artwork is perfect for embossing & a bit of spot gloss, respectively.

It's a universal release so potentially this could be so awesome!
My hopes are high for this one.

Ill wait for amazon to put this up,
I like playing their pre order price game...to see how much it drops in the months/weeks/days before release ;)

Obviously that's not going to be Zavvi's actual price but yeah will wait to see where Amazon come in.

Pre-ordered from Base, very nice Steel

Crikey! Not going to need any lighting with this one in my collection.

Definite buy for me. I still haven't seen the film but a Scorsese blind-buy is safe enough I reckon.

Me too, people are comparing it to some of his best work like Goodfellas, etc. Spoke to a guy in work today and he said about 1 and a half hours of the film are taken up with sex and drugs so it sounds like it's gonna be a controversial movie - not one to watch with the parents/kids/Squeamish girlfriend.

If its half as good as Goodfellas that will be good enough for me...fellas ;)

The DVD/Blu-ray release is getting Scorsese's original 4 hour cut (as well as the 3 hour theatrical cut) so that means even more of the above!:D

I hope it has both cuts. Whilst I'd like to see the 4 hour cut I'd like the option...then again I won't complain as I really didn't feel the film dragged. It used the time well in my opinion. I even preferred the film to Goodfellas which people often quote as Scorsese's best (in my opinion Raging Bull and Taxi Driver are far superior).

I'll be pre-ordering as soon as Amazon put it up definitely. You can see the inside artwork if you click on the Zavvi link btw - completely concreted my purchase with that icing on the cake. Reckon it'll be £19.99 from Zavvi, but will go with Amazon because they're likely to have a price-drop to around £18 (did a bit of research to see how recent Universal steels had dropped in price before release...most of them went to £18). This film's worth that price tag I reckon (and that also happens to be my personal price limit for a single film).

Just edited my post, didn't come out right, didn't mean instead of.

Rapta, it will contain both cuts

Great news, one of the best of Scorsese(best one since Casino) must buy for me and DiCaprio is really funny. Can't wait!

Better than Goodfellas?!!! Really? I havent seen Wolf yet but I will be very shocked if it gets close. Hope my expectations are not getting too high..

This will be another 'Rush' IMO looking at the art so if you want it, get your order in

Wow, that's a beautiful looking steel. Not got around to seeing it yet ( 3 hours is along time to commit to ! ) but everyone I know said its fantastic.
