About time I posted my new setup here!

We moved house in October and went from a 3 to 4 bed house.

When it came to decorating my wife decided that she didn’t want the spare room just to be a guest room with a bed collecting dust for the majority of the time.

Music to my ears when she said it should be the new family movie room. Her only rule was that there should be a sofa bed for when we did have guests visiting and of course we couldn’t have a massive budget as there was a whole new house to decorate!

My old setup/house can be seen here My modest setup (updated)

I have kept my cabinet from the old setup to add to this room and I still have the Xbox and the Blu-ray player. Hopefully i’ll be upgrading to a UHD player in the future!

Out has gone the Samsung H6400, Denon 2113 and the Canton Movie speakers, all now taking up duties in a 3.1 setup in the lounge.

In has come the Hisense U7A 55”. My wife thought 55” was big enough but thinks we could have went bigger once she saw it on the wall. I’m treating it as a bridging tv to a 65” OLED..

Speaker duties are now performed by Focal Sib Evo which of course meant a new receiver was required for Atmos. This falls to a Denon AVR-X2400H. Cooling duties now fall to an AC infinity.

Pics to follow in the next post.

LED’s on tv and cabinet. the ones on the tv come on when it is turned on. The ones on the cabinet receive the IR signal from the Harmony hub in the cabinet. Apple TV for the 4K and Atmos movies for now..

Still to do,

Change curtains and blinds, rebuild Lego street with more Lego superhero /Movie characters on top of display cabinet. Get bigger tv/projector.

When mother in law gets so frail she has to move in, take it all down and start new project in the double garage!..

Thanks for looking!

Could I ask how you find the sofa bed? I might have to do something similar in my room when done, or would you recommend a different one.

It's great. There is a little gap that appears in bed mode due to the fold down centre part of the back rest but we just stuff the two cushions (not supplied into it. I find it comfy as it is but we do put a memory foam topper on it as well. This is mainly to make the sofa last longer but it does make it very comfortable. My 70yr old mother-in-law is currently in there for the next two weeks and she's slept in the last two days :rotfl: I am missing my films though:(.

Also this bed gets delivered as a massive long package (The two arm rests are boxed at the end of the sofa!) to the room of your choice so make sure it can get in or unpack it yourself in another room. My wife and mother-in-law were there when it was delivered and thought they had broken it as the were trying to push the seat and back rest away from each other . It's click clack. Lift from the front edge of the seat, tilt all the way back until it clicks and then it lies down flat like this video

The guy in this video doesn't do it but I find that I have to Pull the back rest forward until it clicks once it's back in sitting position but that might be down to the aforementioned efforts my wife and her mum..
Two legs come of out zips in the back as well for support in bed mode.

We've had it 6 months now and still looks brand new!

Very nice! How is the heat from amp with it inside the cabinet and the router on top of it?

Thanks!

It's not a router, it's a cooling fan. This one here https://www.amazon.com/AC-Infinity-Rear-Exhaust-Receivers-Components/dp/B01LW6CYEC

It sucks the heat up from underneath and blows it out the back. I removed the back of the cabinet so that there's no heat build up inside. It comes on automatically and increases speed as it gets hotter so it's not always running at one speed. That's the smallest one in the range and it seems to cope o.k. so for now I'll stick with it. The larger ones in the range boast more features like displays and alarms if the fans fail e.t.c.

It's much better than the setup I had before using fans from Coolerguys with a thermometer suspended above the receiver, although I have moved that into the left side of the cabinet above the Xbox just to make sure nothing overheats in there.
