January 2014 crap weather and the post crimbo blues.. back to work... but hey let's talk about the things that make us smile and forget all the negatives.

So people it's your forum for the positive and so let the good times roll and most important have fun. Anything big or small that brightens your day or life and pictures welcome.

Ball rolling , I'm still in love with my soul mate after twenty years and life with Ali is as much fun as when I met her . Small things are so important as in a cold beer in a glass sometimes when I get home from work. A bunch of flowers as a surprise when she doesn't expect it. She still makes me laugh when I least expect it and we work well through all circumstances.

A great film enjoyed together or a great meal with family and friends. Three truly demented cats that have the run of the house and I believe we serve them more than us but the make us laugh . Working on my pride and joy ( car ) if it's something I can fix and lastly I actually enjoy my job ( a first ) and a real positive .

Just simple things that make life not so bad and I know you lot will have better . So for once let's have a wholly positive thread full of great things .

If anyone wants a downbeat thread... poxy crap everything sucks I'll start one for that.;)

    Nice thread. :)
For me being with my family. Love my wife and 2 kids. Been married for 6yrs and have a little girl who's 4 and a little lad who's 1. Can't forget my bonkers dog Sandy who's about 7mths old now. Love the random funny moments life brings you.
Had to laugh earlier as my daughter patiently set up some toys, houses, cars, school etc. My little lad was watching her and she was explaining that cars go on the road and the school has all the kids.
After getting it how she liked she asked if he wanted to play with a car and drive to school to be a teacher.
He instead stood up and walked right through everything destroying all her hard work. Her reaction was to sigh and come out with "this is why I'm glad we don't have giants in my town". Just tickled me.

Spent a few days in Louth last week and the butchers are fantastic there so looking forward to Lincolnshire sausages and onion gravy tonight. Weather is crap so we'll crack a nice bottle of wine and watch a film afterwards. Perfect evening for me!

    Good thread!
One thing that makes my day is when you are in a shop, hotel etc. and how people respond when you give them a chance to do their job well.
There can be the odd pain now and then but it shows how good most people are.
For example a few weeks ago I was on a business trip to southern France and everyone was as helpful as could be. Made a sometimes difficult trip much easier.

Daughter had toenail surgery last week, just been for a follow up appointment and all is looking well. So happy it is over. Yeah, just a toenail but I'd much rather I was getting it done than my kid.

The professional attitude, diligence and all-round nice person the builder we have working for us has turned out to be. Makes the hassle of having the place upside down for 2 months bearable.

For some reason I haven't had the January blues this year. Possibly because Xmas sacked the big one for me? Enjoying the mild non snowy/ icy weather here in London, bark if your living in the south west though. Starting a course in The spring then off to Greece in the summer. Yeah things are rosy here :)

Thanks guys great posts and it seems the simple things in life bring the enjoyment ,fulfilment and happiness and not a mention of money and trappings.

Being appreciated at work has made a big difference in my home life over the last two years and my only moaning is on forums ;).

Be happy all and have fun in all that you do.

had a great day with wife and son at one of those warehouse adventure playground things on saturday. even the wife was up 40ft in the air going around.

my wife suffers from severe depression and has had to find new meds the last 12 months due to the ones that used to work no longer being safe in the quantities she needed. for 2 days now the new tablets seem to be working and im getting my wife back (from being a crying mess all the time), which is great.

    horrible thing depression.

on the down side im still aching from the adventure stuff and me and son both full of cold now. oh well, ups and downs i guess :)

I was the happiest I'd been for a while yesterday when my daughter was able to reach into the car engine and get the ratchet out that I'd dropped.

I'd tried everything. My arm wouldn't fit, a stick with a fridge magnet taped on wouldn't lift it up and duck tape wrapped around the stick didn't work either.

Yeah, it's duck tape I have. Excellent stuff but useless at picking up a ratchet.

What gives me a lift at this time of year is seeing the daffodils start to come out.
    A simple pleasure.
