Just finished making these beauties.

QED silver cable (X2 for bi-wire)
Kimber Kable banana plugs
silver plated nylon shielding
heat shrink sleeves

I probably won't hear any difference but it was fun making them, blowtorch came if very handy!

Ah a site with lots of DIY ideas. I'd been thinking of bi-wiring for a long time. I wanted to get some sort of nylon tubing to thread the 2 sets of speaker cable through. Looking on the RS web site I found this silver plated nylon stuff that's got excellent shielding properties. Only £50 for 5 meters.

Well the very minor speaker hiss that I had has completely gone and I can definitely hear an improvement in sound definition even if minor and now I have metalic speaker cable to go with my speakers.

The QED silver £5 per meter from AudioT
The Kimber Kable banana plugs £9 a pair from Russ Andrews (although due to an error on their part I think that I got them for free in the end)
Silver Nylon shielding cable sleeve, £48 per 5 meter from RSWWW.COM
Heat shrink rubber sleeving (for binding silver nylon stuff to the speaker cables) £2.50 per 12 ft from RSWWW.COM

The cables that I created are 1.3M long and are used for front left, right and centre speakers.
