if the box is made for this one release then it seems mad to include a section for a booklet, if they do not supply booklets.

However the liklihood is that the boxes are massed produced and are used by both companies that DO, and companies that DO NOT supply booklets.

More importantly, what is the new transfer like compared to the old?

Would also be interested in what this new disc is like. If worth it may purchase.

Universal did the same with the R2 release of Battlestar Galactica Series, it has a space on the left for a booklet but all they included were leaflets for other film releases and no booklet for the series.

I do have the UK release of The Thing though so will order the R1 SE and just swap over the inside leaflet, that is assuming the chapter selections and extra features are still the same otherwise it would be a waste of time lol

    Watched half of it tonight.
The picture is anamorphic but is still grainy like the original.
One thing is that the begining titles don't move about like the original DVD and VHS releases so that has been fixed.

The bizarre menu music of the original DVD has been replaced by an even more bizarre tune that's quite irritating after awhile.

I can still recommend it to anyone as the anamorphic print is worth the £8 I paid (sold my old one for £5 so only £3 in real terms).
