Status: In stock
Excellent. Love the band and adore anything from Shane Meadows.
Bugger, just seen the price! will that be sticking...
Well it's not exclusive so I'm sure amazon will beat it by a tenner.
Ah good to hear.
A little bit cheaper at Sainsbury's, but still not great:
Buy Stone Roses: Made Of Stone [Blu-ray+DVD Steelbook] on Blu Ray - Sainsburys Entertainment
£18.39 @ Base.com/DVD.co.uk
Blu-ray : Stone Roses: Made of Stone DVD/BD Steelbook (2 Disc) | base.com
I'll never go into the realms of reality when it comes to steelbooks. No chance. I'm spending enough as it is.
I think i'll draw the line at stand up, if there should ever be any.
Up for pre-order at Amazon, £17.63:
Stone Roses: Made Of Stone Steelbook Blu-ray + DVD: Amazon.co.uk: Shane Meadows, Mark Herbert: Film & TV
Down to £15.53 on Amazon.
Artwork now in the OP
is it a G1 steel? artwork makes it look like it, being a DVD/Bluray steel. usually Bluray is put first
in any event i wont be preordering, not a big fan of theirs so since its a channel 4 steel i will wait for the big price drop like trainspotting had.
Love the band and the director's work so very happy to see some lovely artwork for it, wasn't too keen on the red artwork. Pre-ordered.
What's the extra content on this 3rd disc as opposed to the other 2 disc collectors edition which is in the normal Blu ray box?
I'd say it was the DVD copy of the main feature.
Yeh, sussed out after I posted, Cheers. Can't see the point though really, unless I'm missing something, why have DVD and Blu ray versions? It seems its getting more and more about cashing in to me! Looking forward to the rehearsal footage though, should be well worth the price alone if Where Angels Play is anything to go by.
It would still be more or less the same price without the DVD to be honest.
Anyone had problems with this damage wise? I got it from Amazon and it came with scratches in certain places on the front and back, got the replacement today and their is damage(faint long scratches) in the same places basically. Is this a factory problem with a batch of them?
You have to check because you can't see it in certain lights/angles.
Mine arrived today and looks fine (double checked it with the light). But I have always been lucky as I've never had any issue with my steels being damaged. I think they wait for me to do it myself lol
Nah, all good on my copy. I've got a 3 year old lad I'll be watching this with, so how long it'll stay mint for remains to be seen.
Still not got my head around this package, the extras is on Blu ray, so why would you even need the DVD film disc, as you'd need a ,Blu ray player to play the extras disc. I'm not moaning, it was about a quid dearer than the 2 disc pack I think, but still..... what's the point?
The DVD copy - song most people hate including me
But the reason it is added is so you can watch it on a portable DVD player, or can be watched by kids in their room.
The thing is this is a documentary about a band, not really a family film
just thought id mention it looks like this is OOP - its out of stock at amazon, sainsburys and base.com and zavvi dont have a listing now it seems.
looks like this really was limited unlike the other channel 4 steel, trainspotting.
typical i waited to get it dirt cheap and ive ended up paying £18 direct from channel4store (only place left right now with it that isnt a reseller) - oh well it was worth the risk, only a few quid and best to get it now before its gone for good.
this seems to be like star trek - a lot of fans of the band have bought this version who arent steelbook collectors, so it will get rare i think.

Loved the film. I don't think it would have worked [for fans anyway] if anyone other than a fan made it. It was a simple celebration for me no need to dig too deep.
Steelbook has dried up a bit so get it while you can if you want it.
