Has anyone seen the film "The Ring?" What's it like? good or bad?

Which version, Japanese or US?

Not really a case of good or bad. Both are similar. Fans of the Japanese version don't particularly get on with the US remake. Definitely a film to watch though, either one.

Bought the new version on Region one. Worth seeing in my opinion and I am pleased to "own" it. (Unlike Narc of which I have so far watched 57 mins and waiting until really bored to watch the rest, if ever)

Ewan - dsw182 is referring to the fact that there are two different films out there (the "US" version is a remake of the original "Japanese" version).

The region is irrelevant in that particular context...

I haven't seen the US version but I have seen the original Japanese version. VERY creepy, I won't spoil the movie but there is an excellent extra on the DVD that really fits the movie!

The Japanese version is so much better then the US remake, but the US is good too, that means the Japanese is superb!

There are many creepy Japanese movies, that western audience never gets the opportunity to see.
