Is this correct, according to Play it is only a PG13,I thought it was supposed to be a bit scary.
If it is will probably give it a miss for sure.

The original idea with Ring was that it's creepy/weird scary rather than blood and guts scary. The original Japanese film was only a 15 in this country (even lower rated elsewhere).

Don't let the low rating put you off in itself :)

I can understand what you are saying but surely even the physchological aspect of the film must be pretty lame to only give it a PG13.

Bear in mind that the "scariest film ever made" (their words, not mine) The Blair Witch Project would arguably have got a lower rating (only 15 in the UK) if the cast had managed to open their potty mouths without letting a barrage of foul language cascade down upon the audience's poor ears. The BBFC said so themselves, despite the extreme psychological trauma and mental anguish involved in watching a screening of the self proclaimed "scariest film ever made".

Unless mental torture is involved, the BBFC won't award physchologically 'scary' films much more than a 15 unless they also include gore/violent/sexual scenes.

In the States, they give films of that nature an even lower rating.

The general thinking is that these films are usually only 'scary' to adults as kids either don't find them interesting enough to bother watching or don't understand them enough to be scared.

I might be able to convince the Mrs to watch it if it's PG 13. When i told her that i'd ordered it yesterday she said there was no way she would watch it.....far too scary!

It's not out til the 4th March is it?

I think the TV spots are great for it, scary it that 'weird' kind of way.

Official release is 4/03 as you say, although some online retailers are shipping it as we speak...

I believe that disc emporium are direct (if not better) competitors to movietyme as regards early disc's all be it probably the most expensive retailer out there (typically £20.99 per disc)
Have used them for 3 years now absolutely second to none customer service and always someone answers the phone!!!.

    www.discemporium.com
    01438816688
For those interested in the ring if you call before 12.00 noon tomorrow it is guaranteed delivered Friday.
All disc's sent recorded post (silver service available if required)

I have no link to the company other than i feel they deserve any attention this might give.

I also like Disc Emporium. I used them for my laserdiscs and they all came the next day, as long as you order before midday. My first DVD's came from there (5th Element, Air Force One and Mars Attacks back in 1999).

They are an excellent company and there shop is worth visiting.
