How good was this broadcast? Superb! BBC must've really upped the bitrate for this one. Watching some scenes, I actually forgot it was broadcast material and went to hit pause on the remote so I could get a drink

Not a bad movie either - cheers to Kevb for letting me know it was on :)

I thought it was just me! Picture quality was absolutely superb. Not sure if it was quality of source material or transmission.

    :) :) :) :)

Nah. R1 is the only version to have and all the retailers know it, hence high prices! I thought it was a good movie, but not sure it'd stand up to repeated viewing so now I don't feel compelled to buy it :D

Gotta be a combination of the two to be that spot on. I hope this is a sign of things to come! If so, I'll happily watch a few more movies on TV over Chrimbo! :)

dont know about any of you but ive noticed on some movies there seems to be some sort of layer change pause in the film. maybe the beeb and others are sourcing their films from dvds? its possible i suppose and cant think of any other reason why i seemed to notice the slight pause that goes with layer change. or maybe im watching too many dvds

I've never understood why people rate this film so highly. I find it pretty dull.
