Every time the papers or the internet news or the radio or television news mention the horrible killing of Anthony Walker, they always refer to him as "murdered black teenager" Anthony Walker. I think this is a terrible way to refer to someone and think it is disrespectful to him and his family and friends. OK, if they are trying to show everyone it's a racial attack, we all know that anyway and the article is usually accompanied by a photo of the lad. I would much rather see them say "Anthony Walker, the innocent teenager who was murdered in an unprovoked attacked by racist white scum", because this attaches the label to the people who committed the crime, not the innocent party. They would never say something like "Murdered fat forty-something JohnG" would they ?
PS I wish they would lock up whoever is found guilty of this crime in a predominantly black wing of prison so that they can feel the fear and terror that poor lad must have suffered.

You missed out "white" oh, and your religion.
Your religion is only mentioned if you have committed a criminal act and are a muslim, or if in Ireland, catholic or protestant.

I can't turn the TV on at the moment without seeing her moaning.

    Hi,

Another thing that the printed press do, which gets on my (proverbial) tits, is whenever a woman is mentioned in any news story, they always mention her age. If it's a man, it's rarely mentioned!

    Weird double-standards these journos have!

    I'm wound up again !
Every time someone famous is very ill the press seem to camp outside the hospital for some macabre reason. What's the point in doing that ? I'm sure that people visiting George Best don't want to be hassled by them and it's not as if they get any exclusive stuff by being outside on the street. I think it's in very poor taste for them to be hanging around like vultures

Best, his ex-wife and son have been playing the tabloid and reality TV game for ages and while he's critical, they're still interacting with the media and obviously allowing that consultant bloke to give press conferences and disclose Best's medical condition - so in these circumstances I don't really care that they are doing this, though agree its not exactly tasteful.

Neither should it be headline news when there's more important stuff to be covered!!

The problem I have with the media is that they aren't interested if the person in hospital gets better. As soon as their condition starts showing a lot of improvement they are away to look for the next person who might die

Come on George, fight it and make those vultures outside the hospital freeze their balls off waiting for you to die. I really can't see any point in camping outside the hospital, they would all get the news at the same time if they waited for an announcement from the hospital.

I think the press create the hysteria, most of general public don't care about a lot of what they report and as such they are there own readers and publishers.

I think I could of put that better :rotfl: Hopefully you get my meaning :)

No doubt the same reporters who were hounding him and following him around to get photos of him drinking and getting drunk then writing articles about what a bad man he was will soon be telling us what a great man he was and loved by everyone. Just like they did with Princess Di !
