Are we likely to see graphics as good as the Final Fantasy films in this current generation?
We had this discussion a few weeks ago.
No chance this gen....slight chance next gen but I still don't think we'll be quite there.
Have you just been watching th film on Chaneel 5?
I do see in game FMV looking like that soon though
Watched some of the film earlier and we're still a bit off at this stage. That said, some of the in game Mass Effect stuff doesn't look a million miles away.
How many Final Fantasy films has there been. I only know of two, Spirits Within and Advent Children. Has there been any more? And Yes some of the cut scenes in Mass Effect do look pretty good, all done with the in game engine as well. So what ever character you create in game, he/she will be in all of the cut scenes, pretty good really.
That's right I started a similar thread a few weeks ago.
I asked how long will it be until game graphics will be as good as the CGI we see in films such as Shrek and The Incredibles.
To answer your question I think it must be a no although in a couple of years it may be possible to come close to it with the cut-scenes but I think it'll take at least another generation before graphics that good will start emerging on games.
didnt sony say the ps2 could do some scenes from the movie in real time?
Not really too bothered about the graphics being uber real.... what happened to the Gameplay?
Best two games for me so far that seem to have been killer aps are GOW and Bioshock.....both looked great but have added something new to the genre... I remember watching the clips of GOW on youtube crouching, jumping over blocks, blindfiring and just thinking WOW. Same for the Bioshock demo, I just looked around the world but it was the atmosphere and environment that pulled you in.
There's always been stunning visual games that have been utter pants (too early in the morning to think of any!!) and I'd rather we had the graphics combined with gameplay...roll on more Bomberman Live
