Got this dvd yesterday - intial impressions pretty good... the menus are pretty well designed.

However - the picture quality during the episodes is pretty bad. In fact I think it may even look better direct from sky.

Anyone else agree - or is my disc knackered?

I've had the R1 for a couple of weeks and episode 1 is particularly bad but the rest are OK

    I couldn't agree more.

I had exchanged my R2 copy, because I thought that it must have been a faulty disc.

the new copy is just as poor. The picture quality is far worse than the broadcast series, especially episode 1, which often exhibits ghosting and double images.

The strange thing is that the menu's PQ is fine, it just appears that the episodes themselves have been copied from an extremely poor master.

Very disappointing for what is otherwise a great DVD.
