The Oliver Reed approach

I'm going to settle down tonight and watch a few films etc.

I intend to have a few Vodka and Tonics during the course of the evening. Not too many, but a few to relax with and keep my KP Skips company.

Rather than get up and make several VAT's over the next few hours, I was going to make a jumbo one either in a pint glass of possible in a crystal flower vase I've seen lying around.

This technique was pioneered by Oliver Reed. You may remember his chat show appearances along with a mixing jug full of Vodka and Orange.

I see this as dealing with a problem effectively and efficiently. However, the cat is giving me disapproving looks.

So what do you think? Should I go for the supersize VAT or be a responsible chap and make several measured glasses?

Ollie was a legend!! However, whilst your plan seems sensible at first glance, if it were me it would just cause me to drink more, quicker. Basically, your cat is a good judge.

The cat was right, as was MEP. You just neck it down quicker.

That's two pints of VAT consumed already. Time to apply the brakes as I'm currently Dr. Kananga'd !!!!!

With you and your cat I'm reminded of this:

It was early last December, as near as I remember
I was walking down the street in tipsy pride
No one was I disturbing, as I lay down by the curbing
And a pig came up and lay down by my side

As I lay there in the gutter, thinking thoughts I cannot utter
A lady passing by was heard to say
"You can tell a man who boozes by the company he chooses"
And the pig got up and slowly walked away!
