The Official AVForums Car Showroom Thread Pt3

Nice, everything you hoped?

It's awesome  needs to be run in really though but yeah, really surprised how well she rides, the seats are amazing! And yes it's quick, haven't given it the beans too much though but it really pulls in all the gears yet can be a fair bit relaxed, the steering is way different to the normal Fiesta as in it feels a lot more solid, the car can definitely turn in quick but I've only noticed that a little, the handling is something I need to explore and get used to more then the power really.

But hearing the turbo spin up and then go ttsshhhhhh when you drop of the accelerator or change gear is the best sound I've heard :eek::devil: but this morning I had all the windows shut and the radio and air con on and it was a nice quiet drive and you can't hear the turbo noises, this is exactly what I wanted, but after you've warmed it up and say come back home, with it standing on tick over it rumbles hahahaha oh yeah!!

Anyway, yes, VERY VERY VERY pleased with it.

Good to hear, can't wait for my GTI to be built :boring:

haha, yeah, I ordered my ST in mid March! And my dealer told me he sold a black one the other day with an estimated delivery of next year! The waiting is the worst bit.

I have to also say though I'm very impressed with the DAB radio, I know it's a Sony unit but I thought it would be a bit rubbish but on the way to work it stayed locked onto Kiss most of the way, the signal dropped a couple of times but it soon found it again. Really surprised me as I thought driving around the reception would be very poor but no.

When is your build date?

Mid August (estimated) so can come forward or go back. :suicide:

That new "My Way" advert for the GTI is making it ever harder to put out of my mind.

Yeah it doesn't help with all the TV adverts. Still that's not too far away. You should still have some nice weather to go out in it

Looks nicely understated in white

Looks nicely understated in white

I think it goes well with the black trim and the grey wheels. The interior is all black or dark gray as well. Yeah it does look understated, not the loud orange colour it comes in haha.

Here's my recently purchased BMW 320Ci after washing it!

Very nice mate. Looks great in that colour. I know someone with the red/orange one and that looks much better. :smashin:
I have a 2009 Focus ST in black, which I love, and am torn between either a new Focus ST or a Fiesta ST for my next car. I actually prefer the look of the Fiesta, but I'm a big lad so think I'll have to get the Focus. It'll be either white or black.

The snooty old fart in me is struggling to accept these smaller ecoboost engines and the fake engine sound compared to the 2.5 T5 in my Focus. I suppose I have to live in the 21st Century though and the better mpg will ease the blow! ;)

haha, yeah mate it's the modern Eco friendly world! V12's will be gone forever soon :(
The car has very little lag, but I've never had a turbo sports car but to me it seems fine, you do need to be in the right gear though I guess.

As for size, I'm not small, I had the pre facelift ZetecS and I fitted in that fine and in the ST the seats actually go back a little bit further, I'm about 6,3 in height. I also looked at the normal Focus but I just found it too big for me. I guess it's one of those things where you'll have to drive them both but the Fiesta definitely has a bigger car feel to it.

The engine noise is great, when she's warmed up and stationary it rumbles haha, and the turbo wooshes and whistles nicely, but not in a boy racer mega loud way.

Good to know, thanks. I'm definitely going to check one out. I'm 6'8" though, so it might be tight!
The main thing I like about the ST's is how understated they are, especially in black or white. Most people think they're a standard Focus or Fiesta, maybe a bit flashier. Something like the RS is too much for me.

Nice cars guys. I am going to start doing overtime and get a Volkswagon Scirocco 2.0 TSI GT hoping to get an 11 plate from a dealer for 15k. I am hoping to get it in January or Christmas if i am lucky, just not sure do i get a loan from bank or finance from garage.
I would love the Scirocco R range but bit out of my price bracket. I want a car no more than 3 years old and no more than 20k on the clock.

I had an Escort 1.3 for 5 years then a polo 1.0 for about 4 years and currently got a Hyundai Coupe which I got in 2007 so bit a difference :D never spent more than 6k on a car and that was cash so not sure where best place is to do finance etc.

Here's my new Eco wagon. Volvo 1.6d drive se lux

I thought it was about time to get a proper car again, after owning the X Type estate for a year and nearly dying of boredom!

It's my 3rd RenaultSport Megane, an R26 F1 230. The liquid yellow was a £1200 option from the factory and looks amazing, changing between yellow, gold and green when the sun hits it.

These are marmite cars for many people, obviously I'm in the 'love them' camp!

Just been told the car has arrived!!! Had a sneaky look around the dealership and this was the closest I could to it, due to being closed. All being well collecting on Saturday ImageUploadedByAVForums1372167487.242263.jpg
