Just looked at toshibas japanese website www.toshiba.co.jp.

They now have RD-XS30 (60GB) and RD-XS40 (120G + ethernet), both of which look far better than that black monolithic design for the RD-X2.

Can anyone tell me how to translate these to english?

Hi,

I managed to open the site in English try:

http://www3.toshiba.co.jp/dvd/e/recorder/index.htm

It's great to think there might be some competition for the Panny HS2. I wonder when a UK release can be expected and what sort of price we'll be looking at. The Toshiba RD2000 with 30 GB HDD has a price of 270,000 yen. Can anyone do a currency conversion please?

The english site doesnt cover the RDX2 or the RDXS30/40.

The RDX 2 is out in the US at $1499 MRP but can be found for half that suggesting a UK price of £1000 and discounted to the same as the HS2.

Im just curious to see where todshiba are taking things with the RDXS models
