I read a thread on avsforum that the 3910 doesn´t do 480i/576i with the DVI/HDMI outputs, only progressive. For everyone with odd resolution displays(LCD, plasma, LCoS) and for future 1080 displays this is BAD news isn´t it? If this is true I wonder if this is something that they can fix with a firmware?

For those with Matterhorn projectors, wouldn´t it be best if the player could scale/deinterlace 480i DVD´s to 576p? Does anyone know if that will be possible... and again if not then a possible upgrade with a firmware?

It would be typical if they couldn´t do any of this... since a lot of stuff doesn´t seem to be very PAL friendly.

I think the 5900/A11 converted PAL to 60hz with the DVI output.. I wonder if these new player also do this.
