Can't see 4K anywhere, just DVD and HD Blu?

I think it's just a blu release taken from a new 4K restoration as mentioned by the op in his other thread here.

    Dambusters 4k 75th anniversary showing

I asked in HMV and the computer said no for a 4K disc.

The original film was scanned in 4k 16 bit resolution for this restoration by Dragon, Wales. Hence the basis for this Blu Ray release the picture is stunning

It is a nice looking set. I already have the old release but I'll consider that especially if it comes down in price.

    Must. Have. This.

We visited the Möhnesee last year for a short Holiday, & were talking to another couple that had chatted with a Lady who still lived there, & lived right by the Reservoir at the time. Her strongest memory of the Raid was the smell of the reeds & mud the next Day when the Water had mostly run out & the sun heated the Reservoir Bed. This is how the far end looks nowadays

Can hardly comprehend what those youngsters did, back in the day.

Some ex-Air Squadron mates of mine have just completed a 300 mile bike ride from Scampton to the Mohne Dam in aid of the RAFBF, raising £200K to build a respite centre.

And as another aside, my next door neighbour is an ex-Lancaster Navigator, not a Dambuster, obviously, but at 93 years old, he has some interesting stories to tell. Although, as he admits, he saw very little of Germany, as he would be constantly over his table, plotting their position. The only time he got to see anything was when they were either shot, or hit by Flak - then he would sometimes get a view of the other aircraft around them, and the ground below!

I think we have it rather easy these days....

    I may have to invest....
