Clint Eastwood is an absolute legend and it's great to see him on screen. This film made my 18 year old son cry.....that is how good Eastwood is.... he's not seen that many of his films but he has seen the spaghetti westerns when he was younger and i think the thought that it might be one of Clint's last roles and indeed Clint's portrayal of the character made him very emotional towards the end of the film. My wife also loved this film. I salute you Mr Eastwood long may you continue.

      Thanks for the review Cas.

I'm a lifelong Clint fan. He's my favourite actor.

Every time he does a new film (acting or directing), I think "Please let this one be great".

The buzz starts, hope builds up, then it's released and I've been disappointed (J Edgar and the likes).

But I thoroughly enjoyed this. A return to form for Clint as actor and director. A great cast around him too, who, whilst I was watching the film, I thought seemed to be in awe of him.

      A solid 8 from me.

Despite the subject matter, this struck me as a Sunday afternoon, post hangover watch. The action moves at it's own pace, much like the title character. As an acting swan song though, I much prefer Gran Torino but there's still plenty to enjoy here. Eastwood is a genuine Hollywood legend and it's always great to see him on screen. I found 'Escape from Alcatraz' on one of the movie channels a while ago and was grinning from ear to ear all the way through. Took me back to my childhood, trying to watch late movies in my room without waking my parents! I even went as far as taking my T.V to pieces and wiring the speakers to a pair of headphones at one point. It's the biggest wonder I didn't electrocute myself.
