Now you may not know them, you may not care, but at the end of this month, these guys will be playing the London Astoria over two night.

Mike Paton, ex Faith No More is fronting his group the
Fantômas, they have a support band which isnt mentioned, but The Melvins web site states they are at The Astoria on the same night. As the two bands have played together previously it would seem likely thats who will be providing support.

FAO The Melvins are one of the heaviest, slowed down metal bands to walk the face of the planet, having a sticksman by the name of Dale Crover who hits harder than anyone I have ever heard. Makes Grohl and Lars sound like brush wielding jazz drummers.

Fantômas make strange loud noises that are very weird and different. but definitely loud.

Mudhoney............if you dont know who they are, be ashamed, be very ashamed.

I wont hear fro a week, its my own mini heavy rock festival

Theres still tickets and they are only £14.00 per night and its the bank holiday weekend.

If you ever wondered where Nirvana came from, then the fusion of these band will give you a clue

Cumon feel the noyz...........as Noddy might have said :zonked:

If Pattons new effort are anything like his last one 'Tomahawk' they wil be best left alone as this album was/is shocking.

Mind you Mudhoney were a great band.

In my humble opinion of course.

    Cap :)

Huge fan of Patton's work, and what I've heard of Fantomas is brilliant.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely try to see this one.

Dale Crover being Nirvanas official drummer prior to Mr Grohl, playing on their recorded output up to but not including Sliver.

Kurt Cobain, playing on and part producing The Melvins best album (IMO)............Houdini.

The Melvins, KC and DN (Nirvana) all came from Aberdeen. The Melvins inspired Kurts music. Mudhoneys bass player is also ex Melvins.

Couldn't afford to pass up what appears to be a very limited tour for Fantomas, so I went ahead and bought a ticket for that one as well. Should be a good weekend!
