ill be the first to comment....just ordered the 4k matrix trilogy along with the original superman the movie and 2001 ...quick way to burn £90 quid..thought id splash out as i have starteed a new job..anyway...im looking forward to the new sound and vision ... the matrix sequels have took a real panning over the years..expectations were high after i viewed the original film...but now with the passage of time although not perfect , there are things to appreciate about the sequels, especially when viewed together, back to back...i'm looking forward to the new incarnations and if Cas says the product is good, its good...you decide on whether the film should be in your collection..but surely for the naysayers..a new appraisal is worth your time..with tip top 4k at your disposal

Good review but based on the scenes I sampled I would say it looks more natural and some scenes tending to look a bit monochromatic. I think this was a stepdown in overall PQ compared to the sequels. Now that I have the UB820, I will check how DV version looks.

At the time of release I preferred this to Reloaded. It has highs and lows, but I never thought it was as bad as some made out. Shame I'm not 4K ready yet ! Thanks for the review

Quite an underappreciated masterpiece is this third installment I feel. The first was entertaining but I expected more going in so I left feeling a bit meh, the second was entertaining but speeches and action scenes dragged on so I left feeling meh, and going in with lower expectations for the third I was pleasantly surprised to find it's structure tightly edited instead of laboriously indulgent, it's action more emotionally engaging and the story line unexpectedly human compared to the previous installment.

      S**t ending though.

Bought the trilogy and loaded it onto my HDD but not had a chance to fire it up yet beyond the opening scenes, personally I preferred revolutions to reloaded but I'm still upset they didn't go for my far more logical they're still in the matrix theory to explain how he was able to disable the machines.

I was honestly convinced that's where the plot had to be heading, oh well I guess we've got inception for that.

The ending was a huge disappointment. That ruined the entire movie for me.

The first one got it right and would have been happy for it to end there, the second did not have much plot but was easy to follow and some great set pieces but the 3rd, was an extremely poor ending.

Watched this fully yesterday in DV. It looks more natural. The separation between the 2 worlds is better represented here. The climax scenes looks a bit desaturated (to my eyes) but overall this is a big step up from the previous Blu-ray. The Atmos (TrueHD) is amongst the best I have experienced in my HT. Kudos to Warner for giving the trilogy a proper treatment. Also their sound engineers should visit Disney and educate them on how to get it done properly.
