Does anyone know if The Matrix will be re-released seperately from the new 10 disc set?

Dont know about that but does anyone know if the R2 release will be Uncut this time as I would imagine Warner would have to have it reclassified as its a new transfer of the film with new commentaries.

Are you sure about that, there's no reference to it being re-classified on the BBFC's website.

I was wondering about that also as the cuts in the original release were why they removed the commentary track but every person I have asked about the R2 set has said the first film is still cut.

This is what it says on dvdcompare.net:

Our forum member "rq42" has contacted BBFC, and here´s their reply: "Warner have not resubmitted the uncut version to us for this box set, so we assume the box set will contain the cut "15"-version classified by the BBFC".

    See here

I have actually watched The Matrix from the R2 boxset.

The part where Morph and Smith are introducing themselves on the bathroom floor is still cut.

After the introductions there is meant to be a few head-buttings between them, instead Morph gets punched away then Smith slams the floor to get to his feet, minus his shades. (The shades were butted away by Morph in the uncut version).

When Sky broadcast The Matrix, it was shown uncut.

It was also shown on Channel 5 a few weeks ago uncut, its a shame Warner didnt want to let the BBFC re-classify it, could have got away with being Uncut and still rated 15.

Warner deserve to lose money on this and i hope fans on this forum buy the region 1 edition theres no excuse for not resubmitting the film as its likely it would have been passed uncut.

Is there any news about the Matrix being available singly yet? Also how much better is the picture between the original version and the one in the new box-set?
