Taken the day off to take delivery of my new Sanyo PLV-Z1.

Normally days off from work go like lightning...........it's only 1030am and it feels like 6pm...:D

COME ON CITYLINK!!!!!!!

didn't you just have a new PJ? I seem to remember impressions from you.

Anyway, looking forward to new impressions - sounds like an interesting PJ.

3.15pm and no sign of them:mad:

Still, I had time to go out and buy a new centre speaker and new rears:eek: :D

Richard, I viewed a couple of projectors last week, the Plus Piano 3100 and the PTAE-300.

Bought the Z1 though:D

Seen the 300 in action, quite impressive. I'm yet to see the Z1:eek:

Bloody citylink have screwed up, they tried deliverying to the wrong house:mad:

Added to that I've just put the new screen up....and they sent me the wrong one:mad:

Aaaaaarghhhhhhhhhhhhh........

It arrived at 5.30pm.

In a cool graphite colour, no dead pixels, v quiet in eco mode (and no fan speed up with errr....5 hours use:D )

Will give a full opinion on it once I've tweaked a bit and had more time to play:D

Hey Smurfin,

Congrats on the new PJ - glad it eventually arrived for you.

It sounds like its the dogs danglies - very curious to see if it does the "speeding up the fan" business - I think that could be very annoying.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll let us know all about it. ( By the way, if you still have the Hoya FLD and don't want/need it for the Sanyo, can i have first refusal ?? cheeky, I know, but if you don't ask.....)

Good luck,

Sean G.

Hi Smurfin,

Congratulations for your new projector!

We're all waiting to hear your impressions... Please don't make it "a long wait"... :D :D

How does it compare to the AE300 you said you've viewed recently?

Best of luck with your new projector.:)

I won't:D

Tomorrow I've got to mount it properly, my 8' wide screen arrives and an Avia session is also on the cards:D I'll post something in depth on Sunday....

Difficult one re: comparison with the PTAE-300 (really need to see them side by side), maybe puddleduck and I can get the 2 together at some point. Don't think thats even been done on the AVSforums has it?

Would be a good idea, I know we have PTAE-100 owners in Cambridge, at least one PTAE-300 owner and now one :)grin: )PLV-Z1 owner.

Would be interesting to say the least:D

Hi Smurfin,

There are some pretty nice hints above that people would enjoy a Cambridge Projector Shootout:cool: :)

Guys, keep the ball rolling and the sooner the better (especially for those of us who hardly wait to see the reviews...:D ;) )

Wish you good luck...

Well the screen has arrived, just varnished the timber for my projector cradle to be suspended from a beam.

The curtains are down, I have tools lying everywhere, and my living room looks like a bomb's hit it:(

Roll on the end of the day when Operation Big Screen is finally finished:D

OMFG!!!!

This screen is H-U-G-E......

Last week I had a 6' wide screen, yesterday I had a 7' wide screen....today I have a 16:9 8' screen !!!!

I can't believe how big this bugger is!!! Amazing my window is EXACTLY 8' wide and proportioned at 16:9....so it's perfect:D

Even at 10' away, the picture retains sharpness, screendoor really isn't an issue (yes it's there though before anyone asks).....I've been blown away all over again:D :D :D

(Last night I blew the image up to 15' wide, and viewing from 23' away it STILL looked stunning.)

Bizarre for £1300.....

Time for some serious movie watching tonight before I report back:D
