    Taken the day off to take delivery of my new Sanyo PLV-Z1.

    Normally days off from work go like lightning...........it's only 1030am and it feels like 6pm...:D

    Anyway, looking forward to new impressions - sounds like an interesting PJ.

    Still, I had time to go out and buy a new centre speaker and new rears:eek: :D :eek:

    Richard, I viewed a couple of projectors last week, the Plus Piano 3100 and the PTAE-300.

    Bought the Z1 though:D

    I reckon they do places beginning with 'C' last. That's been my problem with them.

    How does it compare to the AE-300 though, have you seen an AE-300 in action ?

    Seen the 300 in action, quite impressive. I'm yet to see the Z1:eek:

    Bloody citylink have screwed up, they tried deliverying to the wrong house:mad:

    Added to that I've just put the new screen up....and they sent me the wrong one:mad:

    It arrived at 5.30pm.

    In a cool graphite colour, no dead pixels, v quiet in eco mode (and no fan speed up with errr....5 hours use:D )

    Will give a full opinion on it once I've tweaked a bit and had more time to play:D

    Hey Smurfin,

    Congrats on the new PJ - glad it eventually arrived for you.

    It sounds like its the dogs danglies - very curious to see if it does the "speeding up the fan" business - I think that could be very annoying.

    Anyway, I'm sure you'll let us know all about it. ( By the way, if you still have the Hoya FLD and don't want/need it for the Sanyo, can i have first refusal ?? cheeky, I know, but if you don't ask.....)

    Tomorrow I've got to mount it properly, my 8' wide screen arrives and an Avia session is also on the cards:D I'll post something in depth on Sunday....

    Difficult one re: comparison with the PTAE-300 (really need to see them side by side), maybe puddleduck and I can get the 2 together at some point. Don't think thats even been done on the AVSforums has it?:confused:

    Would be a good idea, I know we have PTAE-100 owners in Cambridge, at least one PTAE-300 owner and now one :)grin: )PLV-Z1 owner.

    Would be interesting to say the least:D

    I'm very interested to hear what you've got to say as well matey, I'd love to see a side by side comparison of the AE-300 and the Z1..

    Also what screen are you using and where did you get it from :)

    FWIW, I'm only 30 miles down the road from Cambridge (AE100, HCPC, BIG room).

    Well the screen has arrived, just varnished the timber for my projector cradle to be suspended from a beam.

    The curtains are down, I have tools lying everywhere, and my living room looks like a bomb's hit it:(

    Roll on the end of the day when Operation Big Screen is finally finished:D

    This screen is H-U-G-E......

    Last week I had a 6' wide screen, yesterday I had a 7' wide screen....today I have a 16:9 8' screen !!!!

    I can't believe how big this bugger is!!! Amazing my window is EXACTLY 8' wide and proportioned at 16:9....so it's perfect:D

    Even at 10' away, the picture retains sharpness, screendoor really isn't an issue (yes it's there though before anyone asks).....I've been blown away all over again:D :D :D

    (Last night I blew the image up to 15' wide, and viewing from 23' away it STILL looked stunning.)

    Bizarre for £1300.....

    Time for some serious movie watching tonight before I report back:D
