British distributors Arrow Video have revealed that they are planning to add four titles to their Blu-ray catalog in Q4: Robert Altman's The Long Goodbye (1973), John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China (1986), Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs (1991), and Philip Kaufman's Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

I saw this the other day, great news! No actual confirmation that it's the 1978 version though? I hope it is though.

The Long Goodbye is gonna be a blind-buy for me, but I love Elliott Gould and have been meaning to watch it for years. Looking forward to it.

The Long Goodbye and either version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers for me. I've already got BTILC so I'll see what Arrow do with it before double dipping.

Already got Big Trouble and Bodysnatchers from the US, the UK's been far too slow on the uptake.

As I said in the Steelbook thread, they'll have to go some to beat the US BTILC. The audio-visual elements are pretty damn good and all of the (comprehensive) extras from the DVD have been carried over. They'll have to include some really good new material to make it stand out. The original poster artwork on the sleeve would be nice as well.

They're releasing some nice titles in the next few months. Time Bandits is a few weeks away, Lifeforce hits in September and now these.

Hopefully The Long Goodbye will get a decent transfer, screencaps of the currently available release certainly didn't persuade me to part with my cash.

Going by the front cover (posted on the thread at BR.com), we'll be getting Kaufman's version. :)

It would seem I'm the only one looking forward to "The people under the stairs."
I haven't seen it in many years, hoping for a great package:lease:

Haha yeah I kinda expected it more than the original as it's more Arrow's style.

Got mine today large image here

I think this is the best Blu-ray or DVD I have ever seen from an independent UK distributor. It's a magnificent package with eye wateringly great care taken producing it. I feel a great love of film from all those involved.

And I see that old ne'er-do-well Michael Brooke is involved -great job for sure.

    10/10.

I received mine today and I have to say as much as I like the original artwork, I really like the newly commissioned cover

By far Arrow's best commission cover to date for my money.

Didn't get this in the end but will pick it up one day. Recently got Cinema Paradiso instead and am very happy with it! Blind Woman's Curse on pre-order for March. Not sure which other Arrow Academy titles to go for at the minute. Also got Bicycle Thieves a couple of months ago.
