Ok,lets all be honest , :censored: all this old boy cr@p ,its time to let the experienced/old men go and have a sit down and let the new breed have a go.Having the eperience just doesnt cut it,you still have to be able to perform, not just remember what it was like to perform :nono:

Wont make any difference if 15 welsh were playing and Charlotte Church gave them a promise of a after match rub down if they win..NZ is miles ahead of the loins young or old.

You honestly cant expect a scratch team playing well against a established team on their home ground playing some of the best rugby in the world at the minute.IMPOSSIBLE!!

Ok,I am quite drunk atm,but Im sure that doesnt make any sense whatsoever

Anywhoooo,my only point is: from the beginning of the tour I disagreed with the overabundance of old english geezers who have performed err how shall we say...cr@p? ,and the almost complete lack of welsh players in the squad in spite of current performances. Peoples arguements at the time were that the older players had the experience so their positions were waranted but at the risk of repeating myself I think, going on what we have just witnessed, its time for the old generation to go and have a lie down, let the new LIONS have a crack :lease:

Well every Lions team has always played less games together than the teams they are playing against - thats the nature of the side. However I can't understand why Woodward didn't play them more together prior to the test. The squad he took was too big, players didn't have a chance to start to gel together - some only had about 20 mins on the pitch and I don't think that any team selection was the same. Those that did play a couple of times and play well he then played out of position  Lewsey was brilliant at full back and was put on the wing  After all the comments that have been made and the performance yesterday it will be interesting to see what he does for the next test.

Grewcock is out - banned for biting. And Thomas has been named as captain

Apparenly Woodward reckons we'll win the next one, and with Thomas as captain, we might be in for a shout. Couldn't watch the whole game yesterday, made it to half time, but didn't want to be in a mood for the rest of the day. 21-3 is a ****ing joke

    Read it slower ;)

Joking aside, it still amazes me that people thought we had a chance of winning by putting out a lions team which have hardly player together is beyond me

Funny enough thats probably why the british lions havent got a good winning record in test series.

Yep! i guess it was more hope than a actual realistic win.Still we can all hope for the 2nd test and hopefully they roll out the test team on tuesday to give them more game time for the crunch test next sat.

When the Lions scored their three points the commentator on R5 announced 'the lions are back in the game'. A little optimistic :)

I watched the video of this game and a number of things were abundantly clear-Richard Hill and Neil Back should have played their final test rugby with England at the world cup, Back was too slow around the field and Hill was no where near match fit after a few games for Saracens. Will Greenwood similarly is too slow to catch a cold now but all of them WERE great players once! And we now have a filmstar in the Lions ranks in the form of Danny Grewcock starring as Hannibal Lecter. Yes enjoy the rest of your summer Danny you played for most of the rest of the game like someone who had his head up his arse as well as Kevin Mealanus fingers in your mouth.

I cant believe that Sheridan wasnt at least on the bench to try and bring a bit of firepower .Same goes for Henson, and Shane Williams. I predict a 3 match test loss to the Blacks and a loss against Auckland to come. The test and midweek teams will now implode as the management team is too big the squad is too big and those genuinely talented players left out will now fell so sour about their lack of inclusion in the test side that they wont give a hoot about the tour. I think I know what Woodwards TCUP strategy now stands for -total cock up. Time to go from one bunch of losers in the shape of the Lions tour to another lot in the form of Southampton now Clive.

    Kid Rock

ps I am bitterly bitterly disappointed with the tour and I am not going to fly all the way to New Zealand to replace BOD. As I told you on the telephone Clive I am too busy laying a new patio so please stop ringing me.

Scotlands Jason White has been called into the squad(should have been there from the start imo), one tough B:censored:D, should provide much needed muscle in the pack, if Woodward plays him that is. :lease:

It was just a poor team selection for that match - we can hope that the lesson has been learnt and it doesn't happen in the next games.

I don't think Wilkinson should be on the tour at all but Dawson should have come on 20 minutes earlier - he always brings a breath of life to the game when he arrives. :)

Agreed even though Scotland were on the end of a thumping in the 6 nations White is a real hardman as is Brent Cockbain who replaces Hannibal Lecter, I mean Grewcock. But its all too late really you cant tell me the ABs are going to come out in anything but an even more brutal mood. Steve Hansen and Graham Henry know exactly how to combat English style forward play. Anyway back to the patio.....

At least they beat the Manawatu b team second reserves by 109-6. Suddenly CLive must be feeling a bit better again :D

OK, the opposition was not up to much today but that was still a morale boosting win and after scoring 5 trys, you would have to think that Shane Williams has a shout now?

Decent back line now , forwards look better , my only reservation being no Sheridan who has been magnificent. He's not even amongst the subs

Yes he isnt even on the bench for the second test!!!! I dont know why he shouldnt at least be there in the 22. I think his yellow card earlier in the tour has prejudiced his chances but I still feel disappointed for him he looks to me like he could eat the ABs front row on his own. Ryan Jones a v good choice at 8 though.

    Yes very good !
Sheridan consistently broke through the gain line .My question is what is Rowntree going to bring to this squad other than experience? Cw has been far too reliant on the old brigade

I thought Simon Shaw did enough to warrant inclusion as a replacement as well. Chris Cussiter and Hodgson have hardly put a foot wrong.

    Replacement News.

After injuries to BOD and Shanklin, the Lions have called up a replacement centre.
"He has previous Lions experience, he's won the World Cup, and been part of a team which beat the All Blacks. He is also a specialist centre, which will strengthen the squad. The fact that he was already in New Zealand was a bonus" said Clive Woodward, announcing the inclusion of Clive Woodward for Saturday. "He is someone I know, trust and admire, he's been there, seen it, got the T-shirt".

Assistant Coach Andy Robinson said "Clive is a long term admirer of Clive.
The only surprise is that he wasn't in the original 45".

30 points defeat this week  makes last weekends loss look reasonable in comparison.I just wonder who else sir clive could roll out for next weekends final test?
Personally i like to see hodgeson at flyhalf if jonny is injured.
