Thanks am I right in thinking this is the 2012 replacement of the lw450 model as far as the models are concerned?

it's quite tricky to compare like for like but i'm pretty sure that this model is more of a replacement for the LW550/650. hopefully we'll be showing you a 'public' roadmap nearer the time of launch which will help make things clearer. :)

    Hi Dave ,
Can you estimate approximately the price rage for these tvs based on your experience from past years? At the moment 55' lw650 is around£1400. Is it at least safe to guess that the new 47' will be cheaper than current 55' ?

I could hazard a guess but i'd rather wait a bit closer to the time when our retailers have given us more indication on what they want to sell and in what types of volumes. I guess that the price of the TV's this year would be an indication to what they were when they launched last year, but to make an assumption on models that may not be direct replacements would be dangerous. Sorry, hope you understand my position.
(p.s. BTW, it's not like I KNOW what prices they will be and simply aren't telling you!!...!!)

I actually wanted to buy a new HDTV soon, but I guess I'll be holding out for one of LG's new beauties. They really look stunning. Is there any info on how the lower tiered 3D-TVs, LM6200 and LM5800, will look like?

Thats from our friends across the pond, each EU sub will do something similar (and perhaps a bit more graphically pleasant too!!? ;) ) but only when we are 110% sure what we will be getting in the UK as to avoid confusion and disappointment. :smashin:

Are the screens matte or glossy?
Looking forward to see the new LG series in real life!

Some are matt, some are semi glossy but (LG CES source says!) all have improved greatly from last year! :smashin:

Thanks for the link to the flickr-account... But oh boy, is that a large amount of new models. Something that really confused me was the naming conventions of your HDTVs: LM670ST seems to be the LM6700, but then there's a looot of models that seem to fit nowhere, e.g. the LM660ST, LM669ST, LM671ST, LM6450, LM6400 and that's only some

But it's still interesting to see, what a massive amount of different models LG launches each year! And I guess everything will be clearer once the subs publish which models they'll have ;)

By the way, thank you for your quick and helpful replies, some even on the weekend. That impressed me almost as much as the new TVs.

Thanks for your kind comments, i'm often teased that i'm like a stick of rock, if you cut me in half you'll see the LG logo runs all the way through!

You are right about the amount of various models and I didn't want to confuse people further by putting up all those pics without an explanation, yes, it will hopefully be MUCH clearer who will be ranging what soon (I will be updating the official UK threads here in this forum and also a matrix will be released soon so people can see the entire range and what each model offers)

Was there any information regarding the LM9600 release date and price bracket?

We are currently looking for a 55" passiv 3d tv and are interested in the 9600 series but nothing seems t have been mentioned.

Will the 9600 be erased in April too?

I'm a bit confused by the new models as on the new model pdf list this model seems to be listed as not being a smart tv or have cinema 3d??

I've currently got a 47lw550t which has just been written off by LG as beyond economical repair, 90% of the time it's a great screen but the banding and backlight issues spoil it... I have looked around all the other manufacturers and decided i really want to wait for these new 2012 screens, i just really hope that these 2012 LG's live up to my expectations after happily owning numerous lg tv's over the last 5 years....

Shame I was really hoping you'd release a 37" thin bezel TV. Really not bothered by smart TV. Thanks for reply though.

I've just noticed that lg's own motion clarity index on this model is 400hz whereas the lw550 was 600hz and lw650 was 800hz, this is a bit concerning for me as i think that this model will most likely be the one in my price range?? Do you know what the actual refresh rate of the screen will be of each of the models without trumotion etc? Also have lg fixed the 24p support this year? and do you know if the zoom feature will be re-instated as for some reason it was dropped from some of the lw series and was greatly missed, i'd much prefer a custom zoom mode rather than the cinema zoom that lg left on the tv's menus! Oh and a screen fit mode in 3d would be AMAZING :)

I still don't have final production models to play with here in the UK yet but on the sample we have in our showroom there IS a zoom function that you can control manually!!
