Could be, I think another option might be one of the Lego Friends sets. It's very difficult shopping for Lego for other people, I just keep looking at sets I want for myself!
Buy them Star Wars/Harry Potter/Technic, whatever it is you're into and help them build it, with a bit of luck they lose all interest in the first hour as they're not into those things and you can enjoy it yourself.

We got the lego friends jungle base (41424) which is 8+ for our 5yr old I helped build of course hehe, got for £50 or so but wow £75 on lego site!
She got a Troll hot air balloon set to which was very cool!
So since my post yesterday this morning I got a surprise text from DPD and sure enough the GWP and keyring were delivered today. So odd that there was zero tracking and can't be an isolated incident because it's the same on my other order. Anyway I'm happy as really wanted the book of monsters.
My Saturn will be delivered tomorrow, ordered on the 18th Jan, was stuck in Belgium previously. Pretty happy with that turnaround time, had feared much worse
The LEGO Group has officially revealed its latest 18+ vehicle, 10295 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa, which allows you to build either a coupe or convertible Porsche.
Not the best car they done, freebies for early VIP orders to, I think I will have to leave this one out for now!
Just got my ship in a bottle and free battle of endor sets.
Though seeing more pictures, its a bit like some the other cars, they look better from certain angles, the DB5 is one and it still is not quite curvy enough but the mustang looks overall much better.
I like this pic side on:
Personally think it looks better with the top off and agree the wheel arches front and back look at bit odd but overall I've got to say I do like it and it is instantly recognisable as a Porsche 911. I think all the cars in this theme are all slightly compromised to some degree and this is no more than the others. A day one purchase, hmm possibly as the VIP gifts don't look to shabby.
This weeks project completed (whilst on conference calls again). Not as enjoyable as Ecto-1 last week, but a fairly cool set all the same. (the vents are the wrong way around on the side (for now). Couldn't get them to clip in as I think either the instructions are wrong, or I put something in the wrong place inside).
